I am throwing this thing away!! My old hot air popper died, and I bought this as a replacement. It has a teflon bottom (not mentioned in the description, or I wouldn't have purchased it). It takes at least 30 minutes to do anything - and then you get 20-30 popped kernels if you are lucky. In the meantime your home fills with a nasty burning smell. Don't buy it!!!

Unlike a previous reviewer my experience was very positive with this popper. It only takes a few minutes and almost every kernel gets popped. Unpopped kernels are usually caused by low quality popcorn, so always buy gourmet name brand kernels. The cleanup is easy and I love the combo lid/bowl. The only negative is that the butter melting feature doesn't work well (putting the butter on top of the lid and letting it drip through the holes). I usually don't add butter, and if I do I just melt it in the microwave and put it on afterwards.

This popcorn popper requires butter or oil to cook. If you want healthy popcorn, this is not the popcorn maker for you. If I would have known this, I wouldn't have bought it. It does make yummy popcorn though and functions perfectly.

This unit is imported from China. The description is wrong.
This popper appears to be of slightly better quality than the Stir Crazy. I've been though 2 stir crazy poppers in the past 8 years. If I had known that this one was imported I would have just purchased the stir crazy.

My daughters gave this to me for Christmas. It could not be simpler to use.All but a very few kernels were popped, and it tasted great. So much better than microwave popcorn, and it doesn't leave the room with that awful smell like microwave popcorn
