I LOVE my Dyson!!! I had used bagless vacuums before, but this one ROCKS!!! You can see the dirt and it comes out of the bottom of the canister so you don't get dirty. The handle is GREAT! Very comfortable to use when vacuuming! It is a powerful vacuum... you can feel it when you push and pull it across the floor. My FAVORITE part of the vacuum is I can vacuum my hard wood floors and the crumbs don't go flying everywhere!!! It's GREAT for getting kitty litter off the floor too! The on-board tools make is SUPER easy!!!
It's a wonderful vacuum and worth the investment!!!!

I had the DC07 in my old place. Bought the DC14 for my new place. This one is even better because the suction is more powerful. Seeing all the dust sucked up in the canister is a satisfying feeling.

I got this vacuum about a month ago and wanted to write a review since I shop off of reviews. This is very light (I'm 5 months preg.) and easy to move around the house. It empties easily and picks up everything! I have a dog and it picks up all of her hair that she sheds. I love that t goes from carpet to hard floor so easily. I only gave it a 4 because sometimes it doesn't empty that easily and you have to reach up to grab the dirt but other than that, it's a great vacuum.

Before considering purchasing this vacuum I had borrowed one from a friend for a few weeks to try it out and in my opinion there is nothing spectacular about this vacuum, performance was ok. I think this vacuum is way overpriced definitely not worth $400+. I have had a phantom fury for about 7 yrs now and it outperforms this vacuum hands down. Don't be fooled by the price in thinking that because it costs so much more that it's going to be better than the cheaper vacuums.

I puchased my Dyson 6 months ago. At first, it was a great vacuum cleaner, but now, very disappointed. It does not pick up on my hardwood floors and the adjustment for floors and carpets does not work. Also the suction on my area rugs, it does not pick up at all. I contacted Dyson customer service and they referred me to a local dealer to service it which is still under warranty. They NEVER faxed over the orders to the dealer so I had to pay out of pocket. DO NOT BUY DYSON!!

I used to love my Oreck but a new area rug seemed just too overpowering for my old vacuum and I avoided vacuuming it because it would always clog my old vacuum and cause the belt to break. When I brought the Dyson home, I was amazed and disgusted by how much stuff it picked up just one day after I had vacuumed with my regular vac. I told everyone I knew, including my mom who was mad that I would spend so much on a vacuum. So I brought my new Dyson to her house and when she saw what was sucked up from her bedroom after she had vacuumed that day, she said she was getting a Dyson, too. I love the extension handle for sucking up cobwebs in high corners and around the blinds and for doing corners on the floor. This vac is SO easy to use. You can pull the canister off and empty it with one hand. It could not be simpler. My carpets were less than 3 years old but some of the high traffic areas were a little matted down... not anymore. Great product. Believe the hype.

Yes, this vacuum picks up extremely well. The suction can't be beat and it picks up so much that we have to (easily) empty the canister after every time we fully vacuum our entire 2800 sf home. BUT, the "good" stops there. The attachments are a NIGHTMARE to use. You have to fully extend the entire hose beyond the end of the rigid "wand" pipe to even use the attachments. And because the wand is 2-3 feet in length, forget about using it from any other position than standing up, and even then it is a major challenge. You practically have to be an acrobat to get the attachments in the correct position and even then it is so much harder to use than any other vacuum that it's almost not worth the extra suction. For example, try cleaning under a couch, and windowsill, corners, etc. while maneuvering from 3 ft. away. To get under furniture, you practically have to lay on the floor and slide the wand flat across half the room just to get it at a low enough angle to go under the couch, etc. AND THE CORD - WHAT A PIECE OF CR*P. From the first use the power cord, although extra long, has become completely twisted inside of itself so that anythime you have it less than fully extended it warps itself up in knots and unless you spend half your time extending it and then keeping it stretched out when you are vacuuming, it gets tangled again and yanks out of the socket. Overall, for almost [..], you would expect a MUCH better design than this piece of junk. It only gets the second star from me because the suction is so great.

This vacuum is fantastic! After our first use of the vacuum, our floors appeared brighter and the dust problem in our house disappeared. We use it now about once a week, and it still manages to pull up more dust from our floors on each use.
Some reviewers are complaining about a noise after using it the first time. We experienced the noise during the first use, but all you have to do is turn the vacuum over and remove any hair that may be wound around the turning brush. The brush cannot turn if it is tied up with hair, but this is true with ANY vacuum. Our previous vacuum failed to pick up the hair, but this one got it all in one use - if you hear the noise, turn the vacuum over and clean it out... it only means its working!!!
Again, worth every penny!

I recently fired my cleaning service and decided to start doing it myself, but I wanted a vacuum cleaner comparable to the commercial ones used by the maid service. I bought one of the $300 Oreck vacuum cleaners a little over a year ago and it was okay but never really met my expectations. So I researched several including the Dyson. Despite the high price I ended up sucking it up (no pun intended) and getting the Dyson because it had so many rave reviews. I brought it home and immediately put it to work. Initially I thought it was O-KAY. I have light colored carpeting and THOUGHT my carpets were clean -- but it definitely picked up dirt I didn't think was there. The true test came when I took it to the basement. OH MY GOSH! I could absolutely not believe the dirt that thing picked up. I have a beige neutral color Berber carpet that "looked" clean but the dirt literally filled the canister up - and I had a cleaning service mind you. After that episode, whatever little doubts I had about whether my money was well spent were "POOF" gone. I also have a two level stair case in the foyer and it reaches with no problem. Much better than having to lug the upright from step to step. The only thing I would suggest is getting your carpets cleaned to help pull the nap up and the Dyson will keep it looking new...

This is the best vacuum! Like so many other people we were amazed and disgusted at how much yuck it picked up out of our carpets! But I think it should come with a warning label "WARNING: May cause excessive cleaning" We brought it home and as soon as we got it out of the box I was up and running, cleaning the entire house from top to bottom. We live in a desert so there is dust EVERYWHERE and it cleaned up every last bit.
We also read the story of Dyson and were apalled to see that Hoover wishes they bought this idea so they could make sure it never saw the shelves because they make so much money on bags and replacement parts. I'm so glad we decided NOT to buy a Hoover and instead bought a product that we can feel really good about. Thank you Dyson!
