Great for smoothies August 27, 2007 Reviewer:  Cindy "Cindy F." (Tennessee)  See all my reviews >

This was a great smoothie maker and fun for the family. However, it was a little hard to clean. We didn't realize you need to take out the rubber gasket around the bottom every time you clean or it will mildew. Also, after a while it began to leak out of the spicket even in the off position. For the price, though, it lasted a couple of years before the problems occurred and is a great conversation piece.

Outstanding Smoothie Maker!! November 2, 2008 Reviewer:  ladyfern31 (Northern CA, United States)  See all my reviews >

As a nutrition educator, I have used many smoothie makers and the Back to Basics Signature Smoothie Maker is by far the most professional blender I have ever used. I have made literally thousands of five ounce smoothies of all kinds, and I can rely on the Back to Basics to provide me with consistency every time. Our agency will only buy this machine to use, as nothing else on the market has been able to keep up with our demands. I have been so impressed with it, I have purchased it for my smoothie making family and friends. It is very important to understand that it must be completely taken apart every time it is cleaned or it will develop a horrible smell, as food get trapped in between the gasket and base. Also, most parts can be replaced as they wear, except the glass pitcher when it is broken (my own clumsiness), which is frustrating, because you must replace the entire machine. But for less than the price, it is well worth the money!

Reliable blender November 16, 2009 Reviewer:  Dorothy's competition (Kansas)  See all my reviews >

I've had my Back to Basics smoothie maker for at least 3-4 years now and I have no complaints. It comes out at all our parties and makes excellent margaritas and daquiris with ease. The spout does occasionally drip, however if you put the drip tray under it with a paper towel so it doesn't splash, there is no mess! I would recommend this to anyone!

Replacement parts ? September 2, 2009 Reviewer:  UnHappy Buyer (Saratoga, New York)  See all my reviews >

The smoothie maker works great,, "BUT" if it ever breaks or you need assistance "Back to Basics" is a company which is harder to find than Area 51..If it breaks you might as well just toss it..I've searched for days on the internet and telephone and got nothing..Buyer Beware

Spout leaks July 15, 2009 Reviewer:  Janet N. Robertson "Jan Robertson" Real Name (Richardson, TX)  See all my reviews >

I like the way it makes the smoothie but sometimes the smoothie leaks out of the spout and it's hard to make it stop.
Everything else is great.

Good Blender April 19, 2009 Reviewer:  Courtney (Charlotte, NC)  See all my reviews >

I've had this machine for 3 years, and had no problems with it's performance. I love smoothies, and this makes great ones. It doesn't chop whole ice cubes down very quickly, so I would suggest adding crushed ice. Last month, the lever broke off and I can't find a replacement part anywhere. The machine still works great, but parts for this model are hard to find.

Fantastic! January 21, 2009 Reviewer:  Smoothie Mom (Salt Lake City, UT)  See all my reviews >

I love this smoothie maker! I had one that was plastic that only lasted about a year and then fell apart. We found this glass smoothie maker a little later and used it regularly for two years. I have made many a fantastic smoothie in it. It only broke when I dropped it onto a hard stone floor. I just bought another, since I liked it that much.
The only reason I didn't give this five stars was because the nozzle started to crack at the base (where it screws into the smothie maker) after only a handful of uses. That happened on the old plastic one as well.

Great Product-Love it!! Would buy it again. May 5, 2008 Reviewer:  T. Clark Real Name See all my reviews >

I purchased this smoothie maker almost 2 years ago and use it almost every day for protein shakes. The stir stick moves the liquid and ice around so that I never end up with ice chunks in my shake! I would purchase it again if/when this one breaks. I find it pretty easy to wash by hand and even run it through the dishwasher from time to time.

not a good purchase September 26, 2007 Reviewer:  Simpsons Fan See all my reviews >

I had my "smoothie maker" for less than a year. It did a very poor job of blending, crushing, even mixing. After about a year, the motor burned out and the blender started smoking while we were using it. Not worth the money or the counter space.
