This is so cute and Super quiet. you do have to fill the tank often, but in my opinion that helps keep the tank cleaner. I didnt hive it 5 stars b/c we havent had it that long, but I have loved it the time we have had it and it has worked great!

Could be made better July 30, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Mom (California United States)  See all my reviews >

But... They do work. My husband has to have a humidifier and this one is quiet, does not ruin my furniture, and does the trick. Only problem we have gone through 4 of them, but I have not found anything that works as well. I wish they were made better. I do have to say he runs it all night every night, we don't change the water because by the morning it's empty anyway, just refill it every day so that could be why.
I will be off to pick up another one today as our 'elephant' humidifier died last night. (I think the motor got wet)
If you are careful to change the water, and follow the instructions it should work fine. Keep the box and if it does die with in 90 days return it Target is very good about returns.
I have tried the other brands and they were loud, ruined my walls, furniture and were impossible to live with. I trust this Crane humidifier with my new bedroom set.

needs lots of inprovements July 17, 2009 Reviewer:  unhappy grandma "charlene" (tucson,az)  See all my reviews >

I got the frog and had the same problem of no mist coming out anymore after only a few months of use. Don't waste your hard earned money on this brand name...

Cute July 17, 2009 Reviewer:  SheepNumber97245 "+Mir" (San Francisco)  See all my reviews >

I love this little guy. It works well and is very quiet. I like that you can point the head in different directions. One night i accidentally left it on while it was already pretty humid and woke up to fog inside the bedroom haha. I just wish they would have made it so that it held more water. Refilling it is kind of awkward too.

Poorly Made July 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Quality is a Must See all my reviews >

The varied reviews and price of this item tell you it is poorly made. I bought this because it was cute and inexpensive and that's the only reason to buy it. Do not buy this if you are solely interested in a good humidifier! I filled it up half way and it worked fine for about 2 weeks. My son got a cold so I filled it all the way to leave it running on the highest setting all night to help his stuffiness. After filling it, I used the handle to take back to the room and it just popped off...the water basin fell to the floor and busted in half! COMPLETELY...not fixable.

Unfortunately, Target does not stand behind their products. They only sell an item and refer you to the manufacturer if there are problems. They don't test them, discontinue them if found faulty, or give a refund (unless it's unused). EARTH TO TARGET, you don't know if something works unless it's used!

Wonderful product! July 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Delphinium (Massachusetts)  See all my reviews >

I just returned the horrible Vicks humidifier and exchanged it for this -- and am I ever glad I did! Instead of being an overpriced loud fan with a tub of water in front of it, like the Vicks cool mist humidifier, this adorable penguin humidifier is only [..] more, silent, doesn't slosh water out all over the place if you move it while it's filled, and if you turn it up to high clouds and clouds of cool mist pour out of it. It really works!

Good product July 1, 2009 Reviewer:  kjoy6 See all my reviews >

This is my first humidifier. Needed one when my baby was born and used it on our room with him. You need to follow directions as too how high to put it (not on the floor) and how far from other items. But for us it worked great. We definitely felt the mist coming from it and it helped a ton. It was way cheaper than others too, and kind of cute!

good choice May 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Al (Idaho)  See all my reviews >

I bought this humidifier a couple of months ago for my baby, who is prone to congestion. We live in a dry environment and I heard a humidifier might help. I've used it every bedtime and almost every naptime since with no problems, and her congestion is significantly better (but not absent...plenty good enough for her to stay asleep, though, which was the issue previously). I recommend checking that the vapor is rising up in the air, as per the instructions, otherwise you tend to get a damp spot on the floor below and not much humidity in the air, but you just turn the knob until you get the right level of humidity. It definitely helps to keep it elevated, but I just have it on a low bookshelf and it's fine. I haven't had any problems with leaking, although the base of the unit holds water that the removable portion sits in. When you remove the reservoir to refill it, as a result, it can drip a little, but I just hold a rag under it. It's pretty easy to keep clean if you're regular about it--we have pretty hard water and just using some vinegar gets off all the build up (I don't bother with using distilled water and have had no problems). Also, very quiet running. The water bubbles up periodically, but it's not very loud and the motor itself is very quiet. I think my daughter actually sleeps better with in on in part because of the white noise.

My penguins eyes are crossed May 26, 2009 Reviewer:  Friend of Penguin "M Daniero" (Sacramento, CA)  See all my reviews >

My penguin's eyes are crossed, which just adds to his charm. I haven't named him yet, but this will come with time.

This product is very quiet to use and shuts off on it's own.

The only downside I have observed about this product is that it could be easier to fill, possibly a reservoir on top, rather than removing the humidifier from it's base and flipping it over, which may create a little mess.

Otherwise, I love this product.

DON"T BUY THIS April 25, 2009 Reviewer:  A. Hedin "Real Person" Real Name (Anywhere, USA)  See all my reviews >

This awful product just ruined my daughters dressers by leaking a pool of water onto the dresser surface. We had enjoyed the product the dozen times we used it in the past few months, but this inexpensive humidifier just cost less.
I follow the manufacturers directions for use, cleaning, and storage to a t, so this is not user error this is product error.
Do yourself a favor and don't but a Crane product, spend some money and get something that will last and not cost you hundreds or thousands in the long run.
