We bought the elephant Crane humidifier for our son's room. After 3 months of use the thing burned out. Dont waste your money on this item.

after using this for 2 days, the water compartment just cracked for no reason and leaked water all over the place.

This is the perfect humidifier, I have never had one that you could actually see working... I love it and so does my 15 month old son.

Love the look but that's worthless if the product doesn't work right! I don't know what it is but sometimes the product just stops working and no "humidity" comes out of the beak (unless you jiggle the unit). I don't know if it gets clogged or if - like another reviewer stated - can't function properly if you put too much water in the tank (and, I'm not talking about over-filling it - it doesn't work when half full). This started on the second use...so, I know it's not because it's dirty and needs cleaning, either.

I am constantly checking on it through the night to see if it's still going.
My advice? Don't get sucked in by the cuteness of this product - buy one of those cheap Vicks humidifiers from your local drug store....at least they work right and get the job done!

UPDATE: If you place a small piece of cardboard under one of the feet - to make it "tip" a bit - it seems to make it work....not that you should have to do that for the money it cost!

My son loves the penguin, but the humidifier stopped working completely after a few weeks. I had also purchased the frog, which never worked at all and I had to return it. The penguin worked at first, but it was sensitive and would only work if it had just a few inches of water in it. It's never been able to run for over 15 minutes at a time. Now it won't work at all, which is very disappointing.

i love this humidifier due to the fact that it is a pretty blue (my favorite color). My husband & I bought the elephant for my daughter and just recently bought this for me. I am slightly disappointed that the mist doesn't go up like on the elephant, but that is okay with me. Very quiet!! Noise bothers me when I sleep, but with this I don't notice anything except for the trickle of water (I actually find it soothing). Haven't had problems with it otherwise. I use distilled water in the tanks so i don't have to clean them that often. No problems with mildew or anything like that.

This is the cutest humidifier I have seen - i bough it for my baby's room. It works well, too. The problem is, it's NOT whisper quiet as they say it is!!! so, i had to place it in the kitchen instead, away from ALL bedrooms, as it has a continuous and annoying fan sound that disturbs the sleep. So if you can handle the noise, it works ok.

This was such a disappointment...The tank broke after a week of using it and leaked all over the floor. Do NOT waste your money. One star is a generous rating!

This humidifier is small enough to refill easily and there's no filter to deal with. Still, I have to clean it twice a week with bleach water or mildew begins to form inside the tank. Yuck. Also, the directions say that the light should turn to green, but mine just stays amber, even when there's plenty of water and it seems to be functioning fine, otherwise. Oh well.
