Do not waste your money February 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Dissapointed in GA See all my reviews >

In my opinion, this product is potentially flawed and perhaps should be recalled before someone gets electrocuted. We had this humidifier for only 10 months or so, and yesterday after re-filling, we noticed all of the water had leaked onto the floor and counter near an electrical outlet. We had to scramble to unplug it an promptly toss in the trash. Please understand, the unit was never dropped or sustained any external damage of any sort to warrant it malfunctioning in this manner. We are simply at a loss for why this happened. The penguin had been on for about 8 hours, the light was still green, and the water level was still adequate -- it was however time to re-fill if it was to remain on for another few hours. In short, spend a little more money if you need a reliable humidifier. Cuteness isn't all it's cracked up to be.

Poor quality, good for one season January 26, 2008 Reviewer:  Frustrated Mom "Chacha" (Columbus OH)  See all my reviews >

We got this last winter for our new born. It worked fine the whole season. We didn't use it much in the summer. This winter it worked a few days and then the switch disappeared inside when I tried to switch it on. My husband tried to fix it but alas the switch had broken away from the bracket it was held in. SO now we have to buy a new one. Either it is a design flaw or the bracket wasn't made to last more than one season.

Also the vaporising unit has some coating on the element and that had started to peel off.

Works great January 22, 2008 Reviewer:  Cheryl "Cheryl" (Plainfield IN)  See all my reviews >

Works great and easy to fill with water. Just lift his head off and turn his middle upside down. Unscrew the (gastank type of lid), and fill with cold tap water or filtered water. Replace his body back and put his head back on.

Terrible Motors January 13, 2008 Reviewer:  New Mama See all my reviews >

I bought this for my newborn son to use when we started running the heat in the winter. After only a handful of uses I came in one morning to find that the motor had burned out and worse that it had overheated during the night to the point where the water in the tank was almost hot and took over an hour to cool down.

Target returned it for me as defective and I purchased the frog version (really only because they were out of the penguin). We got it home, filled it up and plugged it in . . . nothing. We could see the steam down in the tank but the motor wouldn't expell it from the humidifier slits no matter how high we turned it up. It will be going back tomorow and I'll be buying a more practical humidifier this time.

Love it! January 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Happy in Oregon "Brenda R." (Albany, OR)  See all my reviews >

I've had this penguin humidifier for 2 winters now and it has worked great! The only problem I've had is opening the hole to put more water in. I usually get my husband to do it. It really does help my little guys when they are sick. I have it sitting in reach, but I never worry because it doesn't get hot. I'd buy another one for sure!

Cute work but can burn out January 2, 2008 Reviewer:  RobandNancy "RandN" (Long island,NY USA)  See all my reviews >

Got one last year. Our son has croup a lot and we wanted something that can dump the humidity on him. this fit the bill. The first one works great for over a year. Bought another one this year, it worked for 20mn then died. The cause seemed like something overheated in the base. We had the fan speed set on low. This looks like a design problem. we never set the other one lower that 3/4. Returned it and got a new one which has been working for a few days. We have kept the fan speed set higher than half.

Adorable but poorly made December 29, 2007 Reviewer:  Rocky Mtn. Mama (Colorado)  See all my reviews >

I purchased 2 of these humidifiers for my children, to use nightly, to help with the dry Colorado air. Yes, they are cute, but within two weeks, my son's stopped working (no mist was coming out). I tried all of the trouble shooting ideas in the instruction manual and even contacted Crane. I had to exchange it for a new one.

Now, three months later, I will have to return both of them. Once again, the mist has stopped coming out in one of them. The other one continues to leak, enough that after running all night, there is a 1/2 inch pool of water on the tray I placed under the unit. Aside from that, the handle broke off one of them while I was cleaning it.

I gave it two stars because this ultrasonic system is much quieter than the evaporative humidifiers I've had in the past.

my son loves this December 19, 2007 Reviewer:  February 07 Mom to Be "LSM" (Philadelphia, PA)  See all my reviews >

We use this every night during the dry heat of the winter. Its quiet for the most part (occaisonal gurgle sounds, like your water cooler at work). Its easy to fill and clean. And my son loves the penquin. He thinks its funny. We have it off the floor out his reach otherwise I am sure he would try to play with it.

Absolutely Adorable December 4, 2007 Reviewer:  Kat See all my reviews >

I was a bit skeptical of a humidifier shaped like a penguin, but this one has done quite well! Not only is it functional and adorable, it uses little space unlike most humidifiers.

I have noticed that it is slightly more noisy than most, but it serves as a white noise. Another drawback is that it is a bit more expensive than most. However, since it is an ultra sonic cool mist, you can't get burned on the steam.

It makes a great addition to any room -- even a college dorm room!

Very cute and quiet but it doesn't last December 3, 2007 Reviewer:  C. C. Walter "Watch out world" Real Name (Ventura, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I have had my humidifier for a month and have been super satisfied with it. I purchased 3 humidifiers before pruchasing this one to find the most quiet humidifier on the market because it was going into my son's nursury. This by far was the quietest one I had found so I kept it. Two days ago I realized that the tank was getting low (I had about ΒΌ tank left) so I decided to refill it. To my surprise, it didn't work after that. I have tried everything and it is broken. It is a shame because it is a really cute and quiet humidifier but I think they are very cheaply made.
