Very cute, very very quiet. BUT, it stopped working all together after using it for 5 nights. The base got very HOT and then it stopped working. Too bad. I guess it is a very poor quality item.

This is the worst product I have ever bought at Target.
I bought this humidifier because of its features and whimsical penguin design. We first got it about a year ago, and used it through last winter season. It worked fine and was easy to use. It turned itself off if it ran out of water, and the penguin made me smile. However, after having been gently stored through the summer, the first time I used it this season the on/off button pushed in and would not pop out, and after a little more probing and poking it broke off into the base unit. There was no way to turn it on anymore. I considered it fluky bad luck and bought another one (same brand, Crane, similar design, but not identical because the old tank does not fit on the new base).
The new one was a total disaster.
I took it out of the box and the base had a jagged half inch hole in the white plastic. The first time I filled the tank with water the o-ring seal on the filler cap fell out. I retrieved the o-ring and closed the tank. The handle on the tank snapped off the first time I tried to lift the full tank. The first time I set the tank on the base, all the water poured out. On further investigation the workings were rattling around loose inside the base. I did not try to plug it in and turn it on.
Remember, I had successfully used a similar product all last season, so I don't think this was user error.
This item was made in China. I'm tired of such horrible quality with so many products made in China.
I have always been a huge fan of Target, but I am disappointed if they do not pay attention to the quality of the products they sell. This product just doesn't make the grade.

I asked for this for Christmas 2 years ago. Both of my children have asthma, and I needed a humidifier. I have this one upstairs and the Frog downstairs. This is a wonderful buy with no filters to purchase. This is the 3rd winter I have used these and they are still going strong. I love that you can adjust the stream to various levels and the auto- shut off feature. It is easy to fill and it also perks up the plants I have to bring in for the winter!

We purchased this humidifier because our home has a dry forced-air heating system. The amount of moisture that comes out of his beak is amazing. By keeping the output control knob somewhere in the middle, nothing feels damp by morning. We dropped the penguins head on the tile floor in the kitchen; and although it bounced and did not break, it sounded like it could have cracked if it had hit at a different angle. So just be cautious after refilling, while putting the pieces back together. The noise that it generates while operating is barely audible. Be aware that a filter does not come with it, and you can pick one up for about $9 bucks.

It worked great and loved the auto-shut off feature but it broke within 2 months. We purchased the frog dehumidifier for my other son and that one works great. Maybe, it's just the penguins that are defective.

I got it home to use it and it was broke! You can hear the motor working but no mist. I went through the troubleshooting page and it wasn't any of those either! Now I have to take it back. I'll try another one just because it IS cute but I won't get another one if this one is broken also!

I had this humidifier for almost two years, and the only reason I continued to use it past the first use is pure stubborness. I got rid of a perfectly good Vicks humidifier for this one, because it was "cute". Dumb. My main complaint with this humidifier is that there is NO WAY to get all the water out of the body. It drove me nuts each time I had to clean it, because I had to let it "air out" for a week before I could put it away, OR face a moldy consequence the next time I pulled it out. I finally just chucked the darn thing tonight, because the bottom has been filling up with water every time I use it (has been for almost the whole two years). I just got fed up and will probably buy the Vicks one to replace it. Don't make this same mistake I made with this humidifier!

This is a great humidifier. Cleaning is easy and it's easily moved from one room to another. The fillable portion has a handle which makes it easy to carry when full of water. The head also turns so that you can direct the flow of humidity. It does its job and it's very quiet. It would be a perfect 5 stars if it had a cold/warm option.

My three year old son loves his "friendly froggie". We tried a regular humidifier and it was loud and scary. He would absolutely not tolerate it in his room. Especially at night. I saw this froggie at Target and decided to give it a try. Not only is it quiet and soothing the friendly design is great for little kids. We have had no problems with mold or mildew, but only use it at night and during naps when my son is sick. During the day we dump the water out and allow it to dry out.

This humidifier was great for my son's room, except that the button to turn it on and off quickly broke and it just went downhill from there. Any humidifier can get mold if not cleaned well. I would not buy this item again.
