Do not buy this item June 5, 2006 Reviewer:  Love to Shop "generic book maven" (Iowa City)  See all my reviews >

I bought this item for my cat but had to throw it away because it makes the water smell like plastic. I tried everything--from soaking all the parts in a vinegar and water mixture to scrubbing it with soap. My partner and I realized it was from the tubing so he cut the tubing. Little did we know that destroyed the product and was not even the source of the problem. The smell was from the motor!

Disappointed March 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Lady Action Fan (Illinois)  See all my reviews >

I've had it almost a week now. One of my two cats found it interesting for about one hour. The other would sit and stare at it off and on for three days. Neither has taken a drink from it. But that's the way of cats.

I give it 3 stars because it does indeed work as promised. And even after a week the water appears clean. I can't say the same happens with the other two namebrand cat fountains that I have.

There was no plastic smell except for a rather strong one in the soft plastic tube that runs from the pump to the connection on the bowl. But it didn't seem to alter the water any. But I don't have the nose of a cat.

1.75 years and still going strong. July 11, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Wilson (Richmond, VA)  See all my reviews >

Bought this 10/06 and it's great. One of my cats adapted to it quickly and the other doesn't care for all the commotion of the bubbles in the water. It keeps the water fresh and clean for them for months (until my friend's dog comes over and slops it up ;). It's quiet, too.

It would be cool to make something like this for us two-leggers to make tap water more palatable, aerating out the chlorine and such. Hmmm...

contraption January 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Kitty Princess "Desmirelda" (Baltimore, MD)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my two girls (cats) and thought it would be great. No more moldy mess in the bottle that holds their water and something to keep that slimey stuff from growing in the bowl. Well as my intentions were well ment it did take my girls a bit to get use to the bubbles. I turned them down to nearly nothing until I finally saw them drink from it. Now there is no problem but the bubbles change speeds after a while. Like I will turn it to a certain level and a few days later there will be almost no bubble at all. I then have to turn the little knob to start things back up and running. It's a small inconvience in truth but the greatest part is that the plastic container that is the reservior is awsome b/c it comes off cleans completely with no problem b/c the lid comes completely off and makes the reservior wide open for cleaning then seals up like a big tupper wear container and there is no spills or mess as you fill the water each time. I am very glad I bought it. My girls are happier for it.

My cats love this! December 8, 2007 Reviewer:  Chava See all my reviews >

This is an answer to my problem of changing my cats water two or three times a day. They love the bubbles (the kittens try to bite at them) and they all enjoy the fresh, clean water, and I only have to fill it every other day for my multiple furry friends.
I'm ordering another for my outside cats (they stay mostly in their cat run enjoying the sun and fresh air.)
Very easy to fill and very little sound from the pump. I haven't notice any smell at all as the other poster mentioned.

cat is afraid of it March 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Diaper Changing Dad (midwest)  See all my reviews >

If this is to be used for a cat, DO NOT use the Aerator at first. I used it and my cat was terrified of it and won't go near it even now that I've had it off for a couple of weeks. I've coaxed the cat to drink from it a couple of times but when it dispenses more water the bubbles that replace the water in the storage tank scare the cat away. Other than having a scaredy cat, the unit functions well and looks nice. Aerator that comes with it seems of good quality. The Aerator hose that came with it really smells like some sort of rubber compound. I don't notice it when I'm standing near it, but when I pick up the hose I can sure smell it.

My Verdict November 18, 2009 Reviewer:  Susan Brown "susanakame" Real Name (Los Angeles, CA USA)  See all my reviews >

I loved this. It is quiet... holds a lot of water so that I didn't need to fill the tank every other day and it doesn't need filters or cleaning the pump.

Unfortunately my cat didn't like it at all. He didn't like that the bowl was so full and would only drink from it if the pump was unplugged.

Sad for me... since I had to replace it with another fountain.

Bubble Aerated Water Dispenser October 28, 2009 Reviewer:  Pam "Pam D" (St. Petersburg, FL, USA)  See all my reviews >

I absolutely love this water dispenser!! My cats were timid at first (2-3 days), but now they lay down in front of it and drink and drink. The water is fresh and it is so easy to clean and refill. The motor isn't loud or noisy and it provides my kitties with a continual flow of fresh water! I am extremely pleased and would highly recommend this water dispenser!!
