Not very comfortable September 8, 2006 Reviewer:  annakate (Reno, NV)  See all my reviews >

Not that the hard breastshields are very comfy either, but these can be awful! Sometimes, when all conditions are right, they aren't bad at all, but if your nipple is not perfectly centered, the rubbery stuff that makes it 'soft' is kind of sticky and doesn't slide at all, rather it pulls and chafes-- not a sensation I enjoy! But occasionally you get it perfect and it's fine.

AWESOME PUMPING EXPERIENCE HERE December 3, 2006 Reviewer:  M. Green "KGreen" Real Name (Lampasas, TX)  See all my reviews >

I had almost given up on pumping and was tempted to switch to formula during my eighth week due to soreness and pain associated with the regular hard plastic shields. I was told about the new SoftFit and logged on immediately to read reviews. I read both positives and negatives but decided to give them a try before throwing in the towel. A small price to pay as compared to the pain of pumping and thought of my baby being switched to formula. It was the best decision. I absolutely love them and would not be breastfeeding today if it weren't for the comfort of these shields. I highly recommend them!!!

Worth a try November 29, 2006 Reviewer:  Nicole H. (DFW, United States)  See all my reviews >

I avoided purchasing these for awhile because of a lot of the bad reviews I had heard about them - but I needed to replace some parts for my Pump In Style and decided to give them a go.

I was completely suprised by the fact that they were comfortable - when so many had complained about them.

The only thing I don't like about them is that they are frosted instead of clear like the regular shields, and its hard to see through them to know if you've gotten a good center for pumping. But thats no reason to not recommend them.

I have recommended these to my friends & anyone that asks.

Don't let the negative reviews turn you away - if the standard shields that come with your pump are acceptable - then these are really no different, just softer!

Don't give up try these first! March 9, 2007 Reviewer:  Mom of 2 "Kara" (Sioux Falls S.D.)  See all my reviews >

I purchased the Harmony breast pump and it happened to come with one of these breast shields. Wow! I also have a pump-n-style that had the hard plastic shields. These were so comfortable compaired to the hard plastic. They also flex while you pump that mimics the baby's sucking. I was able to pump more oz. usuing these than the hard ones, And I was comfy. If you think you want to give up because you can't pump enough or because you are uncomfortable give these a try first. What do you have to loose.

Ouch! But I found a cure... November 29, 2007 Reviewer:  Mommy of 2 precious boys "Katrina L" (Colorado Springs, CO USA)  See all my reviews >

I love Medela. Love, love, love the brand. I am not one that needs to have brand name products, except when it comes to Medela because they have never done me wrong. I bought these shields as an additional set for my PIS (never hurts to have spare parts!) However, these are definitely not high on my list of favorite accessories. They stick to the skin badly and I would literally have to "peel" them off, which (as you would imagine) was very painful for such sensitive skin. I have only cleaned the shields in the MicroSteam bags, never in the dishwasher and I know they're not warped. I have found that if I put PureLan around the areola before pumping, there is no sticking and it's a more pleasant experience. I do not get more milk, as other reviewers have. I pump the same as I do with my hard shields (which I don't find uncomfortable at all) and there are little air bubbles that form where drops of milk get caught between the breast and shield. All in all now that I discovered the PureLan trick I'm happy, but I had many painful pumping sessions before this. If I ever need new shields I would not buy these again.

Best thing ever! September 9, 2007 Reviewer:  RC (Atlanta, GA)  See all my reviews >

My son was having trouble latching on until a friend suggested we buy these - now we're breastfeeding successfully! These are well worth the money.

Great Fit February 9, 2009 Reviewer:  Blessed mother "Jennifer H" (Burlington WI)  See all my reviews >

These fit so much better than the hard plastic breastsheilds. I would leak from time to time with the hard ones. I have had no problems with these ones. They do however need to be replaced sooner than the hard ones, but it's well worth it.

Not for me September 18, 2009 Reviewer:  Didn't Like (Texas)  See all my reviews >

I bought these because I thought they would feel better than the hard plastic ones that come with the pump. They were advertised as being soft that flexed. Well the part on the breast is soft, but the part that suctions on the nipple is the same hard plastic as on the hard plastic ones. They also stick to your skin and only come in one size -24mm. The directions state that you cannot clean them in the micro steam bags or they could warp. These were a waste of money. I found moving up to a bigger size in the regular hard plastic personal fit to be the most comfortable. It also helps to put lanolin on your nipples before pumping to reduce friction.

These are excellent. They work so much better than the hard plastic and don't hurt as much. But only online. How lame. Go to [..] and save the unbelievably high shipping.

a bit more comfortable July 10, 2008 Reviewer:  Satisfied Customer "AmyLee" (Anchorage,Alaska, USA)  See all my reviews >

I found these soft fit shields to be a bit more comfortable than the hard plastic ones that come with the pumps. They work well for me!
