We bought one of these several months ago and I use it daily! It is great for making fancy coffee drinks, smoothies, sauces, and soups. I also have an infant and I puree fresh fruits and veggies for her in the Magic bullet. Very easy to use, easy clean up and fast.

This is the best blender out there. It's small enough to sit out all the time. There is vitually no cleanup - you just put the mug and blade in the dishwasher. It can be a little loud, but no louder than any other blender I've used. I make protein shakes in it every day (for the past 6 months) and have only had one problem where the mug wouldn't come out of the base. It was actually my fault for mashing it in there, but I called customer service and received a new mug and blade within a week.
I'm not sure why all of the other reviewers have had theirs leak. There's a gasket in the blade mechanism that must be in there correctly or it will leak, but that is clearly stated in the instruction booklet. My blender even came with extra gaskets to replace them if they get lost in the dishwasher or something.
I think everyone should have a Magic Bullet. In fact I have given it as gifts many times.

Don't Buy This!!

The blade mechanism turns in the same direction that you must turn to UNSCREW THE CUP from the blade. This is problematic, b/c the CUP IS UPSIDE DOWN. SO, if you don't screw the cup to the blade mechanism super super tight, then when the powerful blade mechanism is turning, this same mechanism inadvertently unscrews the cup with all my smoothie contents in it!! Somehow, I believe the sticky smoothie contents have acted to make the blender engine get STUCK, so I have to UNPLUG the blender in order to get it to stop. I learned this the hard way: I lifted the cup attached to the blade, and the blade mechanism was RUINED when I removed the blade and attached cup from the base. Hard to explain. BUT, I had to go to website and order the "Deluxe Package" in order to get a new cross blade that was ruined because the machine wouldn't turn off. I'm out an extra $40....

THIS PRODUCT IS AWFUL. I WAS MAKING SAUCE AND THE BROKE !!! I HAD TO THROW ALL MY INGREADIENTS OUT FOR FEAR THERE WAS METAL SCRAPS IN IT !! AND YOU WON'T HAVE MUCH HELP FORM THE COMPANY ALL THEY WILL SAY IS THAT THEY CAN'T VERIFY THAT IT IS A LEGIT PRODUCT AND GIVE YOU A REFUND UNTIL YOU TAKE A TOTAL OF 6 PICTURES AND SEND THEM TO THEM !! [...]
SO I WOULD NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER ONE !! IT PROBABLLY WOULDN'T BE "LEGIT" ANYWAYS!!!!

I've had my Magic Bullet for 5 months. I use it mostly for smoothies, and it works great. Chopping onions or anything else, it turns them to mush. The base no longer shuts off when I remove the cup, until I unplug the base. Customer Service was happy to send me a replacement, but they charge for shipping. [...] You pay more money for them to ship you a replacement, or you're stuck with a broken item. Luckily, at least mine still works. What kind of 1 year warranty is that?? Buy a good knife and a decent blender and forget this product!

my sister and i both bought the magic bullet and love it. i use mine often for baking, for dips, scrambling eggs and for drinks. it's a great product. i didn't give it a 5 because you have to practice with it so you don't puree everything.

We were temped by the infomercial...

My friend and I LOVED the infomercials for the MAGIC BULLET, and for Christmas she asked for it. I came over a couple days after she got it, and attemped to make the chocolate mousse they showed on TV. Didn't work, mainly because of our mistake. Then we tried to make a smoothie. We measured everything out right, turned it on, and it worked... well. Well for 10 seconds, that is. Then the whole thing started leaking all over the counter. I quickly turned it off and my friend and I attempted to clean up the mess it had caused.
We started all over again, the counter was clean, and we started it up, worked... well, again. Then when we decided it was done, I turned it to the off position, only... it wouldn't turn off! At first we were dumb founded, then we freaked out. We were finally smart enough to figure to unplug it, and it stopped rotating like a tornado. I figured out the problem, the smoothie had dried in the base (a minimal amount). I took a knife, COMPLETELY cleaned it out, and served the smoothie. We decided to make more, and once again, the beast wouldn't turn off! We unplugged it again, and decided enough was enough. I checked, there was no smoothie stuck in the thing.
It still leaks now, we tried it again a few months ago, and we can only be remembered of that horriable experience last year. Yikes.
That infomercial is a joke. The Bullet had to of broken down or leaked during that thing, I swear. It leaked on it's second use for my friend and I!
And we are perfectly capiable of using the MAGIC BULLET, it just didn't want to work for us.

What a rip-off

I only owned the Magic Bullet a month or two and hated it. I made protein shakes with it and because the container is upside-down on the base, it drips liquid down through the base and onto the counter. Since you can't clean inside the base it soon begins to smell rancid. You can only screw the container on so tight I know I'm not doing it "wrong". I complained on their website but they were no help. I don't have the receipt anymore so I'm out $60. What a rip-off.

I am VERY disappointed with the magic bullet. First of all, I did read the directions prior to use and I have also watched the infomercial several times... this blender is EXTREMELY noisy regardless of what you are making, produces a burning/electrical like smell after blending something as simple as milk and ice cream(I was making chocolate milkshakes), and the best part is that it either leaves stuff way too chunky or totally liquifies it. Its an expensive, useless piece of junk. I would return it but I threw away the box prior to using it.

We got this as a gift - it's good for making drinks and smoothies, and good if you want to liquify something, but even with "pulsing" like it says veggies end up in either very large chunks or teeny tiny pieces. I've found that you have to do a lot of stoping and mixing, especially with avacodo. It's not that bad, but it's not that good.
