I recently decorated my 3-yr old son's bedroom with a space theme (planets, stars, bedding, moon, etc), and bought this because he loves planets! It was rather flimsy and the planets are cheaply made. It was somewhat tricky to assemble the whole thing. Once it is screwed into the ceiling, it looks pretty cool! But, it's rather loud when running and the light doesn't give off much light. I just don't find this toy very appealing.

I think it's great for the money. I have had mine(also have the Moon in my room) for a year. It's VERY easy to assemble, takes about a minute, and it runs on 3 C batteries which last forever compared to other toys. It uses a remote control, which my daughter loves to play with, and looks cool up. Only the sun lights up, it is slightly loud, but when my daughter hears the humming she knows to look up. It also has an auto off feature after 20 minutes, I think. It comes with Pluto, which I removed, and an educational cd, which would be good for an older kid, but I dont use it. Also, I dont think its so cheaply made, its lives up to expectations, no more, no less.

Ever since I found this mobile (it's not exactly a toy), my 3 year old has taken an insane liking to learning the planets. He points with the flashlight at each one and wants to know which they are.. he can identify some of them himself! :) It's a really fun educational tool that has easy assembly, little maintenance, and in the right location, won't be annoying! I love it! :)
