Be careful - I just bought the Graco SafeSeat (black-red)with matching stroller (they love these already) for infants and this base was shown on the same page and I bought it for a spare for me (grandmother's car). After trying for awhile we realize it didn't fit the seat.

I wrote to Graco and the correct model base is 8A04 and it doesn't appear that Target has it. No idea if I can return this one as my son and DIL didn't keep the box.

Now I'm off to try to find the correct base.

This base is easy to install with or without the latch system. We have three bases - my vehicle, husband's vehicle and grandparents. I could imagine not having it. So easy to snap the carseat in and out.

Even though one comes with the travel system it's smart to have one more for the other car. That way you can just lock in the infant carrier to whichever car you plan to take that day rather than remove the base and fasten it to the car and waste time. Love the ease of using this :)

I spent a few dollars for a new one and regretted it. Afterwards I found one in the garbage for free, and another at a consignment store for lesser cost. No reason to buy these bases new.

This is great for the other car. The only issue I had was finding the locking clip for the seatbelt. It's hidden on the underside of the base. Boy, did I look dumb taking it back to the store for the "missing" piece.

I received this item as a gift to go with the Graco Quattro Pro Stoller/Carseat combo. It was recommended to buy this piece as an extra base. HOWEVER, the base does not match the carseat. The site indicates this nowhere, and still has the items paired. So, be careful what you order.

...if you need it anytime soon.We bought the carseat & needed an extra base for dad's car...I ordered it in December, Its now MARCH & its still on backorder.

The Graco Snugride is fantastic seat. Very safe, it gets high marks by Consumer Reports. Having an extra base comes in super handy, as you can put the extra base in a second vehicle. You can just put the carseat in whichever car you want.

I have to comment about the review saying that you should buy one used or dig one out of the trash. That is not safe at all. If you don't know the history of the seat or the base, then there's no way of knowing how it was treated by it's previous owners. It could have been in a crash. It could have been mistreated and damaged. It's much safer to pay the money and buy one brand new, unless you really trust the person who you're receiving a used one from.

Purchased two Graco bases to go with Graco SafeSeat Step 1 Car Seat as a baby gift for my daughter-in-law. After the baby was born, it was discovered that the bases did not fit the seat. Target refuses to take the items in return as it's been over 90 days since their purchase. Items are worthless and being thrown in the trash ... money wasted. Will shop elsewhere next time.
