I never knew carpet steamers could be this easy to use! I have three cats, two little boys and a big dog. (LOTS and LOTS of traffic!) This cleaner is a joy to use - very maneuverable and a cinch to clean and maintain. I love the detachable clean and dirty well - its easier than carrying a bucket to wash the car! It's no bigger than my bagless vaccuum, so it stores nicely in a closet. My carpets look new and fluffy again after I use it! Yes, it takes the carpet about two hours to dry after I am done, but it's a whole lot quicker than the OLD spend-an-entire-day-shampooing-the-carpe ts routine! (Ugh, remember those?) I LOVE THIS MACHINE!!!!!!! :-)

I bought the Bissell ProHeat and loved it the first time I used it. It really got my carpet clean, and I, being of small stature, found it easy to manuver. The second time I used it (about 1 1/2 months later)the water quit spraying, and because it doesn't suck up anything but water, the carpet fuzz had become entwined inside it. Also there is no easy way to get to the "guts" and I spent about 2 hours, with tweezers, pulling out the fuzz. It then started to work again, but crashed shortly thereafter. I took it completely apart, and found the water hose had a crink in it and thought my worries were over, but then the thing would not snap back together. This was the most expensive single carpet cleaning I have ever had. I've always rented a cleaner, and thought this was a great alternative to the money spent. I was wrong. I trusted the good reviews. Everyone wants to dismiss the naysayer, but, they tried to warn me!

I have had my machine a year and a half now and it works as well now as the day I bought it. We have 2 cats and a large dog, it works prefectly. My step daughter has borrowered it a few times too and she has 2 very large dogs. She has used it on her couches and they look brand new. My Mother has a Hoover that was more expensive than this and after 3 days of trying to clean red wine out of her cream carpet I finally took my machine up to her. Within 15 minutes the stain was gone, she thinks it looks as good now as after hiring professionals to come in. She was going to sell her Hoover but after the results from this machine now she is thinking her Hoover only deserves to go in the trash and she is headed down to buy either this machine or the ProHeat 2X with clean shot. My Father is good at spilling wine...

I wish I Had paid more attention to the bad reviews. Like the others my Bissell quit spraying after only 3 or 4 uses after 6 months. I carefully took it apart and cleaned it after each use.Do not waste your dollars.

I bought this product last spring. Used it 3x's and all 3 x's, it has only dumped all the water AND solution onto my carpets. It will not suction. There seems to be too many different gaskets on this model to malfunction. I owned a power steamer from Bissel prior to this model, and the old one outworks the newer model by far. I can't remember which store I purchased this from, so I can't return it. Now I'm stuck with [an expensive] peice of junk.

LOVE IT!! I have VERY light carpet, a 2 year old AND a dog~Yup, it can get that bad. But instead of paying $400 for 2 rooms I decided to pay $200 and do my rugs at my leisure. so, easy to assemble, easy to use and easy to store. I did my rugs around 7pm, migrated to the back of the house and they were completley dry by 10am the next morning... Not Bad. I would buy this again... Good deal for money. Liquid cleaners are pretty cheap too!

We were a bit skeptical at first, but a friend recommended this model. We have since done all the carpet in the house 6 times, and borrowed it out to 3 other couples. All 3 other couples bought one since. I have severe allergies and require carpet cleaning at least every 6 months. This machine does the trick. Also, use the stain remover products. The O2 (squeeze) is great for concentrated spots, the other Bissel oxy product that is 2 aerosol cans connected works great on high traffic patterns. We thought we were going to replace the carpet before we gave this a try. The carpet looks better than new.

I bought this carpet cleaner, because I live an in apartment with my dog (who likes to throw up occasionally) and I didn't want to ruin the carpet! First time going over everything, the carpet looked beautiful--better than when we first moved in. It even took out some dark black spots that had gotten tracked in by a plumber. And being this is my first time ever using a carpet cleaner, I thought it went smoothly! There is a little assembly required, but I was cleaning my carpets within a half hour of getting my delivery! Very convenient and well worth the money!!

I have 2 dogs, a cat, a 5 year old. My living room carpet is light blue and my dining room is light blue with an off white center. The Bissell brought my rugs back to life and they look like new. It's nice to see them back to their original colors and vibrant. I was without a cleaner for so long I thought there was no hope, but Bissell has saved me a very expensive rug replacement.
