My 10 year old and I love this machine! August 19, 2009 Reviewer:  SFGirl "SFGirl" (San Francisco)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my daughter's 10th birthday and we LOVE it!

After about 5-10 minutes of trying (unsuccessfully) thread the needle using the instructions from the box, I found a video on youtube and was able to thread the machine!

The sewing machine in the video is not the Janome, Hello Kitty machine but the concept is the same.

I also went to a fabric store and tried looking for super simple patterns so that my daughter would be inspired but the very helpful assistant recommended I buy fabric squares to start her off with. So I bought several pieces of fabric, some polyfil, thread, a pack of metal bobbins, a sewing kit (includes scissors, pins a pin cushion...) and a plastic tote with handle to keep it all in.

My daughter was so excited she wanted to sew right away. After about 20 minutes of setup, I got one of the fabric squares, folded it in half and zipped up three sides (leaving a 4 inches on one side). Turned it right side out and stuffed it with the polyfil. Hand-stitched the hole and in less than an hour I made two pillows! My daughter then made one for herself and one for her friend. The girls stuffed their own pillows and I stitched them shut.

Next time, I will cut out little fabric hearts and let them write notes on them and put them inside their pillows or stitch them to the outside.

Needless to say, the machine is a HIT. Super easy to use -we are beginners and this was my daughters FIRST time using a sewing machine and my first time in ~20 years! It is light and compact and super cute! I ordered it from Target.com and it arrived in less than a week using their standard shipping method.

Hope this helps!

Has Great Looks and Performance June 16, 2009 Reviewer:  YoungLove (Rockford, IL, USA)  See all my reviews >

I love this machine. It is in fact 3/4 of the size of a normal sewing machine, but I don't think it would be a problem unless you need a little extra room (if you're sewing quilts or something large). It has all the functions as the machine I grew up with, it's just much more adorable. The light, reverse option, diagonal and other stitch settings, threading the bobbin, etc. all work and are easy tasks on this machine. I don't foresee any problems and would highly recommend purchasing this!

Great travel machine! April 29, 2009 Reviewer:  Quilt Diva (California)  See all my reviews >

Sews great.....I will use it for a travel machine and take it to quilting classes. I was able to purchase extra feet at the Janome dealer in my area. It sews well and I have been piecing a quilt on it. It also looks cute sitting out in my sewing room. now I am looking for a Hello kitty bag to tote it around in.

great machine January 22, 2008 Reviewer:  Elizabeth Mechem Real Name (Lawrence, KS)  See all my reviews >

I got this in store for 1/2 off. It's very similar (if not exact) to the Janome 3125 that Hancock's sells for $129.99. My daughter loves it as it is extremely easy to use. It's a great little machine, even for those who already sew. The kitty just makes it very cute. It comes with some sewing accessories, too. The bobbin is a front-loading one, so it's a little tricky for those of us brought up on the top loading bobbin, otherwise, great buy.

Exactly what I wanted January 13, 2008 Reviewer:  jahaben (St. Louis, MO)  See all my reviews >

I wanted to learn to sew and found this at my local target on clearance. Being a hard-core hello kitty fan I took it as a sign as soon as I saw this machine that I had to get it. The machine itself is very heavy duty and the instruction booklet is very easy to follow. I had a little trouble at first because I kept getting the bobin thread tangled but I read other reviews on here that said to replace the plastic bobins that come with the machine with the size 15 metal bobins so I went to the fabric store and bought some metal ones. That works perfectly! Thanks for the advice fellow target shoppers. Get this machine for a simple sewing machine. Well worth the money.

A Wonder in Small Package July 20, 2009 Reviewer:  kb new hobbier "kb" (HI)  See all my reviews >

Have this machine for over a year. I find it works well and does everything needs for everyday sewing. It is about 30% smaller than a standard sewing machine but packs a punch. I have not found any problems with it. Has more choices than those tiny cheaper machines and it built much better and to last. Unless you are a sewing maven doing all kinds of quilts or large items I think this machine will be one you will enjoy and use often . I hardly ever lug out the big machine these days.

Stupid. June 8, 2009 Reviewer:  DIY or DIE "!!!" (Milwaukee, Wi, USA)  See all my reviews >

The person who said they had trouble returning it to the store was a moron. I work at Target, at the service desk actually, and I know that online purchases can always be returned to the store as long as they have the credit card it was purchased with.
Anyway, this machine, like all Janome machines, is awesome. My only complaint would be the price, we had the same machine in pink at my store and it was only price. Besides the price, it's an awesome machine for it's size and I will be buying a Threadbanger Janome soon.

Small, cute, and easy to handle October 30, 2009 Reviewer:  andariega (Las Vegas, Nevada)  See all my reviews >

I LOVE my little machine. I am a beginner and my projects have mainly being small ones. Even as a beginner, this cute machine is easy to figure out. Mine came with an instruction booklet, and inside the machine in a compartment under the needle, there is a plastic bag with a bobbin, needle, seam reaper and other goodies. I would highly recommend this machine, as soon as a can, I will buy another one for my sister. Note: I do not know how it works on heavier fabric. Hope this helpls.
