Love it!

I just love this travel system! It's a great quality car seat and stroller with many wonderful features. I really love the color and the fabric is very nice. I like the drink and storage compartments up top and the storage compartment with cargo net at the bottom. The car seat fits very easily and securely onto the stroller and in the car. The stroller has a very smooth ride and folds easily, which is very helpful. It was also very easy to assemble.
I heard about the consumer reports rating but I looked it up and it is the discovery model, not this one, that was rated badly. I am very happy with this travel system and have full confidence in it's safety.

GREAT stroller -- TERRIBLE car seat!

After 5 months of use with the Aura system, I have come to the following conclusion: Keep the stroller - dump the car seat. The Aura car seat does not fasten well to the rear seat using the LATCH system. It slides side to side with little force. The straps are awkward to adjust as the release handle gets in the way. The only thing good about the seat is the Z shaped handle. The stroller, on the other hand is convenient and simple to use. I just wish the rear axle and wheel setup was more robust. A child and a diaper bag make the rear wheels bow outwards. The pistol grip makes it easy to manuver in a tight area and the locking (directional) front wheels are great for rougher terrain(broken sidewalks, gravel, etc.).
*ALERT*
The February 2007 Consumer Reports rates the Evenflo Discovery as NOT ACCEPTABLE in their tests and it would probably KILL a 22 pound child in a 38 MPH side impact. Although the Aura is NOT the Discovery, a side by side comparison reveals many of the same features. Actually, I could not see a real difference in the two seats when I held them side by side. This FRIGHTENS me and I am discarding the seat as soon as possible for a Baby Trend Flex-Loc or the Graco Snugride. Both were recommended in the same test that condemned the Evenflo Discovery.

When you go to Consumer Reports, you will see that this system is rated very well, as long as you use the SEAT BELT to secure it, rather than the latch system. Among competent latch system car seats, only two were reated good. SO...really, as long as you don't rely on the latch to secure your seat; many of the systems on the market are perfectly fine! Furthermore, it was the Discovery system that was ranked poor over the Embrace system.

This is NOT the Discovery model

People are flipping out over the latest Consumer Reports article...understandably so. However, this is NOT the Discovery model that did so poorly on the tests. This model PASSED.
That said, I own this travel system and love, love, love it. The stroller is a tad heavy, but the super lightweight ones feel so cheaply made. It makes up for it's weight in user friendliness. I love the way it pops open like an umbrella, and folds back down so effortlessly. It makes a whole generation of mothers before me envious. The shocks in front made it ride like a Cadillac, and the one-handed steering comes in super handy when you're using the other hand to shop.
The carseat is LATCH compatible and easy to install. My only complaint about the whole system is the "Z" bar. Nobody carries a carseat the way the "Z" bar intends, and none of the carseat toys you want to attach are going to fit properly...rendering the whole idea pretty pointless.
Overall I have no regrets about purchasing/using this system. Whatever system you choose, be sure to grab yourself a "Kiddopatamus" [...] It keeps my son's head up, spine aligned, and he can't resist it's coziness :-) Congratulations on your new little one!!!

We have not actually used the car seat yet, but have it installed in our car, so I can't really comment on the anything other than the installation, which was fairly easy. My comment is in regards to the recent safety tests. The Evenflo model that failed the Consumer Reports safety test was the Discovery car seat. The car seat that comes with this travel system in the Embrace model, which did pass the Consumer Reports tests.

Car seat failed consumer reports testing

I have this travel system and have loved it until now. I just read in consumer reports where this car seat failed both the front and side impact test. I suggest getting a new car seat. Our babies are too important to risk this.

I got this carseat/stroller as a gift for our first baby. It was fine until now. I wanted to change the strap between the legs to the bigger size since my son was getting bigger. I noticed that the plastic had been compromised. It was bending and not holding the lap belt in place. I called evenflo and they told me "the probability of something happening in an accident was slim" I don't know about you, but I expect a carseat to not have probabilities, but rather to be 100% safe. I now have an ongoing investigation with the department of transportation on this seat. I would strongly advise against it.

We wanted a neutral stroller that had all the convenience and safety a travel system needs. We have been extremely satisfied! My husband loves the z-handle for carrying, and my son sleeps comfortably in his seat. The stroller fits great in my civic and it opens and closes easily. The large storage basket underneath came in handy during Christmas shopping. The drink holders hold drinks secure so we don't have to worry about spilling and I love the convenience of having a closed comparment so my wallet and cell phone are easily assessible. The infant seat clicks easily in both the stroller and the base. I like the idea of having a base in both cars it makes getting the baby in easy. I wouldn't want to have to thread a seatbelt through the infant seat. The base is easy to install if you have to move it to someone else's car as well. I have been using it for 2 months and I have been very happy! I highly reccomend this system!

I love this stroller! There are just a couple of small things that I dont like...sometimes(not all the time) the front wheels seem to shake like there isnt enough weight on them, the cup holders are kind of hard to put drinks in and out of but they stay in there pretty sturdy, and until you get the hang of it the stroller is hard to open.Otherwise this car seat is wonderful! It is easy to install and easy to take in and out of the car! My son sleeps so comfortable in it! Iwould highly recommend this stroller!!!!!

The system is okay. The ride is really smooth and it is easy to close. My problem (lol there are many) is that I'm constantly bumping into things. The wheels are wide and when the car seat is attached i feel visually impaired. The color is okay, but you can see every piece of lint (which because of the material) it picks up. My biggest issue is that it doesn't allow my son to sit straight up. He's at that age where he wants to see everything and the seat... set to it's highest angle..is just that.. still at an angle. I don't like that the stroller itself doen't have a harness...just a waistline buckle. I'm looking into a new midsize stroller. One that both my son and I can enjoy together.
The carseat is wonderful though. Easy to install and remove. The only thing is that you have to adjust the straps prior to seating him. The gracos make their carseats with the pull strap in front so that all you have to do is get there arms in and pull the front strap to tighten it. Believe me ..i think all babies at one point hate being in the carseat..so getting them in and out can be rather difficult. Goodluck!
