This is a quality desk. My granddaughter and I love it. The only problem is that it is front/top heavy and tends to tip over forward as the child sits on the bench seat. I will be installing a wall anchor strap before I let her use it again.

poor construction

The cover came with 1 spring hinge attached (to the cover)and one loose hinge that I had to attach myself ( I thought "no problem" )It was a BIG PROBLEM!! When I tried to close the cover with the 2 hinges attached it pulled the anchor bolts holding the cover right out of the wood !! I had to reinforce the cover by putting 4 ( 2inch ) wood screws and remove one of the hinges. This was a birthday present for my granddaughter,if I had more time I would have returned it and purchased another brand elsewhere

This toy chest is beautiful. It matches well with the white Bassettbaby cape cod crib. Another plus, the lid is tight; it won't fall on your little one's hands when she opens or closes it. You have to push down on top of the lid for it to close.
The only problem with our toy chest was that the assembley was not complete. One of the built in bolts and screw sets were missing! Thank Goodness my husband had tools, screws and bolts on hand to put it together. Otherwise, we would have had to return it! The instructions are only one page so it's simple to put together but impossible to complete if all of the parts are not included!!!
