This is a well-made, attractive dog house which I use indoors (the top would need to be waterproofed to have outdoors). It's 18" x 18" interior makes a cozy "nest" for my Westie. The top deck is perfect for grooming and a great perch for my cats to bird watch. The cedar smells so good and is a natural insect repellant. I even used it for crate training but I had to fashion a temporary screen door. It was relatively easy to put together. You may want to air it out for a day or two before using, it's that aromatic. I love this item and would highly recommend it.

This product is wonderful. My dog, Figgy Pudding (chihuahua) loves this thing, like she loves her momma. As other review said, it is VERY 'aromatic'. so DO air it out for a day or too. but other than that, Figgy Pudding loves this beautiful cedar dog house. Thank you, Target!

I bought this "outdoor" pet house for a stray cat that we adopted. Assembly wasn't complicated, it took me about 10 minutes to put it together. The smell of the wood finish was so strong that I had to "air it out" for 2 days, but then it was fine.
When we had the first rain storm, the roof leaked a little bit, but most of the water came through the large door.
I put this pet house on the covered front porch now and it works fine there. If someone is looking for a "weatherproof" pet house, this doesn't do the job!
