Annoying to Parents November 27, 2007 Reviewer:  R. Overbeek See all my reviews >

Our daughter gets bored with the game easily. She has more fun pushing the buttons repeatedly than listening and responding to the game. The graphics quality is substandard and pixilated. I wouldn't mind the low quality of the graphics if it were reflected in the price of the games.

As a parent, it hasn't shown any educational value for our child and is incredibly grating on the nerves of an adult.

FUN ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT July 14, 2008 Reviewer:  Tigster's Mom See all my reviews >

I bought this for my daughter, now age 2 1/2, when she was 16 months. She didn't get any use out of it until just recently. At first, I thought I wasted my money but now I love it. She has a very severe language delay due not being able to hear for the first 18 months of her life because of over 20 ear infections and horrible sinus problems. My daughter and I use this system together and I believe she gets huge benefits from it. She learns not only language but how to put her words together to form expressions. Now that she has the hang of it, she uses it by herself sometimes but I had to put the time into it to show her what to do and how fun it could be. This is not a toy that your child will just sit down with and stay out of your hair unless you take the time to get them interested in it. The Einstien cartride is by far the most interesting for my daughter.

GREAT toy for the age range May 7, 2008 Reviewer:  Montessori Mommy See all my reviews >

After reading prior reviews, I was a little hesitant about buying this toy, but I'm so glad I did! The graphics are not sharp, but they are appropriate for babies. The lessons are simple and so are the graphics. A baby taking in new information does not need complex graphical presentation. I have a good quality HDTV and the graphics were perfect for my toddler. In fact, its simplicity is what I loved about this game. VTech is a great company, they knew what they were doing when they created this. It keeps my toddler engaged and absorbed and I can tell he is learning the lessons presented and is having fun. That is why it is the "baby" model. If others are looking for something more sophisticated or challenging they should consider the regular v smile model for kids 3-6yrs old, but that one would not work for children under the age of 2-3. This one works for kids as young as 6 mos! I love it!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! January 22, 2008 Reviewer:  M. Istwan Real Name See all my reviews >

We bought this as a Christmas present for our 13 month old and it might be one of the worst products I've ever seen.
1. The graphics are incredibly pixelated, not even comparable to 1980's video games.
2. The SOUND is even WORSE! We are trying to teach our girl new words.. impossible with sound quality used. Again, like the old 1980's video games type sound- AWFUL!
3. It's already broke!! The unit has a switch that lets your infant press the buttons on their own without the video game set up... that feature lasted two weeks.
4. Design is terrible. Hypothetically, even if the video and sound wasn't such terrible quality, it is impossible for an infant to learn with this regardless. This is because they put a slider right in front of them that changes game modes. So every time your child grabs it... and they will, it starts over, and over, and over (you get the point.)

Quite frankly, I never tend to write reviews at all. But this product is so poor, quite frankly I'm shocked that Disney would even allow them to use their brand with the software!

Way too advanced for the age group they recommend this for November 28, 2008 Reviewer:  Jennifer L. Mendrysa "Nancy Nurse" Real Name (Washington, DC)  See all my reviews >

If you could find a 9 month old baby, who can play with this toy the way it's intended, I will sell ice in Alaska. This is a total waste of money. Not to mention the graphics look like something out of the 1980's computer games. I feel bad that I had my in-laws even buy it for my daughter last year for Christmas, when even a year later, she has yet to be interested in it.

Don't waste your money!!!!! November 19, 2008 Reviewer:  Mommy of two little boys "Michelle V." (Murrieta, CA)  See all my reviews >

This toy is really a waste of money! The graphics were horrible, the learning behind it is completely unstructured, it turns on only when it wants to! It doesn't even come with the power cord- you have to buy it! In my opinion buy the v-smile or v-smile pocket. They are for slightly older kids rather than toddlers or infants but they work wonderfully and my 4 year old takes his everywhere and they have lasted a very long time at the hands of him- which is a rare thing these days!

ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR YOUNG CHILDREN! January 1, 2008 Reviewer:  My Three Sons "Sarah C" (Clarkston, MI USA)  See all my reviews >

I am so disappointed! We were given this as a gift for my 11 month old son (well within the age recommendation). The base, although it does make noise, does not do anything else on its own. I would have at least expected some lights or more interaction for the little children. My son has played with it 2 or 3 times for 1 to 2 minutes before going on to a different toy. Now knowing what this toy is, I would never recommend it for young children. This was our first VTech toy and I will definitely stay with Leap Frog!

Very Boring System January 25, 2007 Reviewer:  Ana "Mommy of 2 boys" (Kansas City, KS)  See all my reviews >

My son received this toy as a gift, and it is not worth the money spent on it. My 14 mo. old has no interest in it. The keyboard is the boringest thing ever. The wrist pad comes off and it doesn't have enough interaction without being hooked to the TV. Once we did hook it up, the watch and learn is like watching paint dry. I'd rather let him watch Seasame Street. The learn and play mode is boring because it doesn't have a lot of options. I never bought any more cartridges other than the one that come with it because I felt like the boring keyboard limits any fun possiblities. I retuned it!

Total JUNK June 21, 2008 Reviewer:  E. Moran Real Name (Schenectady, NY)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my daughter when She was 14 months. We used it once and then it stopped working. I bought it again for her at 20 months (more age appropriate) we used it a couple times and it stopped working as well. Poorly made. Very disappointed!

Don't understand... November 23, 2007 Reviewer:  Nelliebelle1197 (Atlanta, GA)  See all my reviews >

...why you people think sitting an infant in front of a television is educational. A study by University of Washington has shown children's "educational" television products hinder speech development and that children learn best by interacting with adults and having stories read to them. On average, kids plopped in front products like this and Baby Einstein have smaller vocabularies than those of children whose parents read to them. Besides, why do you want to teach your children to watch TV and play video games?
