What a Let down April 6, 2008 Reviewer:  Alykat (Springville, Al)  See all my reviews >

My daughter got this for Christmas. This is all she asked for. She played with it maybe 2 hours total and has not looked at it since...other than to crawl on it to get other toys off the top shelf.
I would not buy this again. The cost was way to high!

Overpriced and Stupid Toy November 27, 2007 Reviewer:  E. Ellis "pinklima" Real Name (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

My little sisters got this as a present last Christmas, this Christmas it will be in the corner, missing an ear and a tail, and never played with at all. It doesn't move and just sits there and shakes it head. It's so annoying you are better buying a Gameboy or an American Girl doll for the price.

Not durable December 5, 2008 Reviewer:  A. Norman Real Name See all my reviews >

First off I can't believe that people actually pay this much for a stuffed horse! I was lucky that I bought mine at an unadvertised super clearance sale [...] Brand-new in the box.
It's a fun toy until the ear breaks off, and then the tail, and then the neck breaks & will only turn to one side. It stayed in good condition for about 2 months & it just started falling apart.
My little girl still loves it as is, but I would never pay the asking price! [The price I paid] was just right.

Not for kids that play. February 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Barbara Rose Real Name (Michigan)  See all my reviews >

This horse is not for kids that play. It is more for kids that want an expensive moving statue. We bought two of these horses and had to return them both. The first one was shipped with a broken leg (aww). The second one's the tail fell off, the zipper broke, and the head started moving wrong. This is a great idea but it is not durable enough for active kids. It also leaves little to the imagination because you have to be so cautious with it. However, Target was great about returning them.

MOST STUPID OVER-PRICED TOY EVER MADE January 31, 2008 Reviewer:  Emily and Jack's Mommy "Sara M" (Milwaukee, WI)  See all my reviews >

This toy was a gift. I almost pooed when i found out how much was paid for it. It is way over priced. The only thing it does is move it's head from side to side and makes horse noises (you can hear the motor everytime it moves) My daughter was 4 when she got it and had to turn it to face the wall when she slept because she was scared of it. Now she is 5, no longer is afraid of it but hasn't played with it either. SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

Cute but not worth the money. January 11, 2007 Reviewer:  Disney Mom "Kim D" (Upland, CA,USA)  See all my reviews >

I bought the toy for my 5 and 8 year old. The pony has great and fun features, but I feel that the company should have not have charged so much. I was expecting alot more and it is noisy also.

We have had for 2 years now, still going strong! December 18, 2008 Reviewer:  Bridgette Parsons Real Name (Gainesville, FL)  See all my reviews >

My daughter got Butterscotch from Santa two Christmas' ago, she is 9 now, and still loves her. Butterscotch has held up perfect, I am confused at the reviews saying it has torn up.
We have a family of 5, with two dogs and Butterscotch still looks new, minus where she is sat on; the fur lays down flat. My daughter has ADHD, so she is an active child, but she doesn't abuse the toy. She sits on her to watch tv, brushes her everyday, and loves to practice putting her halter on and off. When she has friends over, they all go nuts to play with Butterscotch.
My two year old son loves playing and riding with Butterscotch as well, and can get up without any help. My one year old daughter loves to pet her and play with the swishing tail.
The major thing to note is the batteries. It would have been really smart of them to make a battery and charger kit. Powerwheels has it, and so should a large toy like this, if its going to be used often. Takes 6 D batteries, and with how often my kids use it, has to be changed once a month. The cost there adds up, but since 3 kids are getting daily use out of it, its worth it. Be sure to shut the pony off at night to help the batteries last longer.

Favorite Christmas present December 29, 2007 Reviewer:  Mom of 3 (Trenton, OH)  See all my reviews >

I bought this for my 18mth old son after several trips to area stores that had Butterscotch on display. Every time we got near the toy section, he was looking out of the cart for the horse and we had to stop and feed him the carrot and pet his nose. We had him set up near the tree on Christmas morning and his face lighting up when he saw the horse was priceless. Every morning since we feed the horse and pet him and sit on him. My son seems to miss the horse more than the family dog! My older kids, 9 and 6 also can sit on the horse though they do it for the younger ones sake. While the horse is expensive, it is definitely a treat for any youngster, IMO. We had no problems setting him up and are still on the first set of batteries.

You people are Crazy... this toys is FANTASTIC!! December 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Mom of 3 "Andrea" (Jupiter, FL United States)  See all my reviews >

My daughter received this gift last year for Christmas and she LOVES it. We have never had a kid in our home that hasn't LOVED it! We have had adults sit on it and it has held up just fine. We have had our friend Butterscotch for an entire year and he is still a hit and still has his tail and legs attached. I guess if your kid is an animal and jumps up and down all over it.... it may break, but in our house... we don't jump up and down on things unless they were made for that purpose. I say if you have a kid that loves animals and loves to take care of them and pretend and ride... then Butterscotch is perfect for you! If you have the wild child.... maybe not! In our home with 3 pretty normal kids... he has been a welcome addition!
