I needed a good iron but a light one since my wife has problems with gripping things. This iron was my answer. She loved it, but she still makes me do all the ironing. At 39.99 it was a bit much for my budget, but you get what you pay for.

Trying a Different Brand

My husband bought a different Shark steam iron about 2 years ago and I loved the steam feature. I figured it was leaking water and the steam button broke because my stepdaughter dropped it. I replaced it about 3 months ago with the Rapido iron, and now I'm unhappy. The steam button started sticking, now it's stuck in the down position. If you iron daily like I do, don't get this product. I don't think it can handle the load. I'll be returning this to Target and trying the Rowenta I guess. If that doesn't work, I might as well go back to the cheap Black & Decker.

Bought March 2, 2009. Worked well for two months of everyday use. Started leaking water after two months. Cannot turn off the steam any longer. The manufacturer refuses to honor the waranty without charging more than half the price of the iron

I put this iron on my Bridal Registry last year and received it as a gift. I haven't had any issues with it yet. I do not iron on a daily basis, but when I do use it, it works just fine for me!

3 1/2 stars. This iron worked great for the first year I had it. The spray button never has really worked, but the steam works great as long as you only fill up the water about halfway. After one year it leaks really bad no matter how much you fill the water up, and the handle gets hot when on for an hour. I would just like to find an iron that works for longer than a year. However, this iron has not gotten much worse from the end of the first year to now year 4.

It was a nice iron for the first few weeks. It never stops steaming OR the steam never comes back on once it does stop!! It fell over once and all of a sudden I noticed these little "crumbs" type things on my board. It shuts off by it self in LESS the time it advertises. I could go on & on, just save your time and spend a bit more and get a GREAT iron instead of this piece of garbage!
(I had to give it ONE star by default! I would NOT even give it that!!)

First impressions of this iron were great! I were so impressed that when the first one broke, I went out and purchased the same exact iron. The original iron leaked water and had a short in the cord. I thought it had been dropped and maybe we were unintentionally mishandling the cord. When I was forced to purchase a new iron, I was so impressed that I put no thought into it! I brought the same make and model. Unfortuantley, I've only had the newest iron for about 4 months and the steam button is permanetely stuck in the down position. I was still able to use it. Over the last several days, I've noticed this iron also has a short in the the cord. Definitely a fire hazard, so I'll be forced to buy a new iron today. It definitely won't be the Euro-Pro Rapido Pro Lightweweight Iron!

I needed a new iron and got this one as a gift. It worked fine for about 6 months and then it started leaking water for no apparent reason. So I decided to use it without the steam feature. But it doesn't heat to a high enough temp to iron blue jeans, corduroys, etc. Then 3 months later it just stopped working in the middle of ironing. The lights went out and would never come on again. I've had cheap irons that lasted for 6 and 7 years and did a better job.

Another piece of garbage

Tried out my new iron tonight. Doesn't even heat up to the "Nylon" setting. Funny that it has a "QC Passed" sticker stuck on it. Another piece of cheap Chinese garbage I have to return to Target. Always keep your receipts from Target, because if you have my experience, you'll have to return 3/5 products you purchase. [...]
This is likely due to the quality of the products they sell. They know they're selling garbage.
