Every time I have ever used this product, the rice always comes out perfect. I had one before that just had a glass lid that sat on top of the cooker and it always either crunchy or still swimming in water. This rice cooker is pretty much fool-proof. If you know how to measure rice in a cup (which is included) and fill water to a line that is already marked, then you can make perfect rice.

My husband and I have had this rice cooker for about 2 years now and we use it at least 2-3 times a week. Overall it works well, however it does take a really long time to make a batch of rice (definitely over half an hour though I've never actually timed it). If you plan on cooking for only yourself or one or two other people, I would opt for a small model. Occasionally though the rice cooker will stop working mid-cook, so when it finally beeps and you're ready to eat you open it up and the rice is still swimming in water, very annoying. It hasn't been bad enough for us to replace it yet, but when I do I will not purchase this brand again.

Perfect Rice Every Time!

September - Bought this a few weeks ago and have used daily! Easy clean up, no spills, and easy instruction. It even has a little side cup to catch water run off from the stream! I read the directions word for word for steaming, white rice, and the special instructions for brown rice, had no issues. And can't beat the price!
Update December: Had this cooker for 4 months and still can't believe how amazing it is! Perfect rice everytime, have even heated a few porridages and stews with great results. For a $30 price tag you simply cannot find better! Just bought a 2nd one for a christmas gift for my sister.

Checked this out at my local Target- could'nt believe the price, didn't even need a new rice cooker! Bought it anyway, love it! Much better then my still working pot version. Makes a ton of rice, use it 3-4 times week. I have owned it for over 1 year.
One tip- if you are making a small amount of rice, use an extra 1/4 cup of water. More then the recipe for rice calls for. Such a big pot it needs it! Trust me!

I used it for one week and returned it. I was cooking brown rice. After an hour on warm temp., the rice would come out burned and crispy. It was very frustrating and did not meet our family needs.

I have owned this rice cooker now for a little over a year and it has done its job. The cooker is easy to use and makes perfect rice every time. The warm setting is nice as long as you don't let it sit for more than a half an hour after the rice is done. Both the delay and the finish beeper are very useful features. That being said, the biggest complaint that I have with this cooker is that it is very difficult to fully clean. The steam spout and condensation catch are removeable and dishwasher safe but the lid does not come off like a traditional cooker's so you can't wash it in the dishwasher but instead you have to wipe it clean. The seal for the lid is poorly designed so it takes a while to get the gunk out of all the little grooves and creases. This is ok if you are using it only once in a blue moon, but for a person like me who uses it almost everyday, this can get very frustrating and very nasty if not properly cleaned after each use.

Perfect sushi rice!

My previous rice cooker burned the bottom of the rice every single time. I mostly make sushi rice and you have to use less water so that it's sticky, like it's supposed to be. This cooker cooks the rice to the perfect softness and literally falls out of the non-stick bowl, no scraping with a rubber spatula needed.
I've used it many times and it's never burned the rice. Yes, it takes a little longer to cook, but it's worth it to have perfect rice. I guess I'm just not in a big rush when I'm cooking.

It cooks my rice perfect every time. It's important to always use there measurment guides. There cup size measures differently from traditional measures. (measuring cup is included). For those who complain about the rice sticking to the bottom of pan, the directions do state to add an extra cup of water - depending on the type of rice being cooked. Also, little things like if you rinse your rice also make a big difference, because it reduces starches and nutrients. Not to mention that if you are cooking your typical white rice (long-grain) always get rice that has been imported from Thialand, never rinse it. The rice is of better quality, cooks better and tastes great. [...] The Aroma rice cooker is just wonderful, I started out with a black n' decker brand and was very disappointed with it. It would cook veggies great, but the rice always held to much water. It was on of those clear open steamers. It was my first try at a rice/food steamer. In a way I am glad I waited a while to get another steamer, because you couldn't pick one up with a timer without spending a ton more money. I cook rice almost everyday, and by the time I get home from work my rice has already switched over to the warm setting. All I have to do is cook up my chicken on the grill or stirfry it and my family is ready to eat. Truely a great steamer from a good price. You won't be disappointed.

I bought this item a few days ago and already used it 6 times and LOVED IT. My husband and I are BIG rice eaters and this made our rice delicious and QUICK. It cut my cooking time in half comparing to the old fashioned way. Very easy to use!

I use this for many things. While I'm steaming frozen veggies in the top basket, I have eggs hard boiling in the bottom. Rice-a-Roni -- dump all the ingredients in the bottom according to the package directions -- perfect every time. I steam frozen hamburger patties and veggies in the top basket at the same time. Frozen shrimp in the top basket -- perfect pink and tender. Regular rice - I substitute 1 cup of water with chicken or veggie stock. This Rice Cooker is so versatile. I use it every night and get a healthy meal (I've lost 12 pounds in the last month - eating steamed food and rice). The rice will get a bit brown at the bottom -- so remember to stir after about 20 minutes. I am buying these for friends that are on a fixed budget so I know they're eating well on the cheap. Easy to clean too. The top basket does get a hot - remember to read your manual and use the utensils or hot pads. I love this rice cooker. Yummm.
