Great product. Be sure to anchor it. October 13, 2007 Reviewer:  Dan "Dan" (Texas)  See all my reviews >

My wife and I have been very pleased with our purchase of this gazebo which I installed about 6 months ago. We pondered the decision for a while because we weren't sure how well it would hold up. I anchored it to our concrete patio using concrete screws in all 16 of the pre-drilled anchore holes and it is truly a solid fixture when anchored properly. The netting is the only thing that has not held up as well as I would have hoped. It takes the better part of a day to completely assemble it if you have a helper when it comes time to lift it into place. I'm confident enough in it's integrity, that I'll likely not worry about it except to remove the canvas when a hurricane blows through. If you don't plan to anchor it right (as with any gazebo) then you'd likely be better off with a parasol.

Great.... when reinforced September 16, 2007 Reviewer:  KS Doc (Wichita, KS United States)  See all my reviews >

How not to do it-
In 2006 we purchased the Tiverton (Sunjoy Industries) gazebo. My wife loved it. We weighted down the bases of the columns. There was still some play though. Around week 3, I watched a mild-medium wind trash the gazebo. When it started to lean, the joints of the plates that hold the top frame (weakest point) snapped. We took it back for a refund (always keep your receipts from Target).

How to do it-
My wife loved the gazebo so much that she talked me into buying another one in Apr. of 2007. This time I erected 4 6X6 posts in the ground (2 ft deep in concrete). The columns were placed over the posts and then the gazebo was assembled. The posts extend 2" above the top of the columns and are hidden by the supplied cover plates. It is now very secure and after five months, it doesn't budge an inch in high winds. *There is very little room for error - post placement must be exact.* I am now looking to replace the canopy though. When the gazebo does finally wear out - I'll have 6x6 posts ready to build a gazebo or pergola.

pretty, but poor quality August 23, 2007 Reviewer:  mychill "mychill" (pa)  See all my reviews >

This gazebo is beautiful, but a nightmare to put together. I think my husband lost his mind trying to figure it out. We called the manufacturer who sent us new parts, that still didn't fit. Target was no help in trying to help us. I guess we have to take [this down] and forget about it. Unfortunately, we really do like the style. The designer style is beautiful, but not practical. I think my husband is going to need medications. Thanks!

Great Shade & Sturdy August 15, 2007 Reviewer:  Busy Mom "Ann" (Omaha, NE, USA)  See all my reviews >

We've been impressed with this gazebo. We purchased it about 1 month ago and have had some very severe midwestern storms this summer with lots of rain and high winds (60-70 mph). The gazebo didn't wear a bit or tip over as we were originally concerned. It took about 3 hours for 2 people to put together but the instructions were thorough. Now we can actually use our patio.

We love the gazebo! You need more than one person to put on the top though. It took about 4.5 hours. Has anyone purchased the chandlier lighting?

Nice Gazebo August 5, 2007 Reviewer:  satisfied customer "Ken Jacob" (Sterling Heights,MI.)  See all my reviews >

Was not to bad to build. I put it together my self in about 6 hours, the directions were fairly straight forward and not to hard to understand if you take your time. The only thing i recommend that i did is build the roof section on the ground, (on the cardboard box from the packing so not to scratch the paint) but dont put the canvas top on until you get the top on the 4 columns. I had 4 of my teenaged daughters male friends pick up and hold the top while i set the posts underneath and just thumb tighten the bolts on first, then went back and tightened them. But i was afraid of putting the canvas on and lifting it on top of the columns only to have it fall and go through the canvas top. So i put the canvas top on last from off a step ladder. Only one bolt did not quite line up on the column support that i redrilled. I screwed it down to my concrete patio with Tap-Con screws and it's as solid as a rock. Only i wonder if i can get a replacement canvas cover because the frame may last for ever, but the top is only going to last a few years and will need to be replaced. Outdoor oasis--a must have!!! August 3, 2007 Reviewer:  Hamlets of Stonebridge (St. Louis, MO, USA)  See all my reviews >

I read several reviews about the Sean conway Tiverton 2007 Gazebo before I purchased it. If you want to spend thousands of dollars on a gazebo, go for it. If not, this is the best bang for your buck!!! I am in full agreement with everyone who gave it a top rating. This gazebo is absolutely awesome!!! We have two small children who love to be outside and we have no large shade trees. Needless to say, the summer months are hot, hot, hot and we constantly had to go inside to cool off because of the heat. Within a few months, this gazebo has paid itself off--we have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it--rain or shine. I recommend buying some outdoor area rugs from Target, the outdoor chandelier, and an outdoor table lamp--to create an awesome outdoor living space. At night, the lighting is wonderful and perfect for entertaining or just relaxing--definitely a classy touch. We literally are under the gazebo from morning until night--rain or shine. I also agree with other reviewers that it takes longer than than 2 hours to assemble. We put it together without instructions and it took approximately 4-5 hours. Common sense prevailed--but we did need our neighbors to assist with placing the top on the posts. It is pretty big once you get it assembled. And, we did order a replacement canopy just in case--[...], which cannot be purchased at Target. Target will provide you with the manufacturer's 800 number--who you have to contact to order replacement parts--be sure to get this just in case. Overall, the purchase price was well worth it. I highly recommend this gazebo and trust that you will love it as much as we do. Hands down, this is our best purchase of the summer!!!

Replacement Cover July 28, 2007 Reviewer:  E. V. Heiskell III "mrnedster" Real Name (San Diego, CA)  See all my reviews >

We have had our gazebo for a few months now. It is awesome. We live in sunny southern california, but we do get some windy days, but this gazebo stays put. The one concern I have (which applies to anything that stays outdoors) is the effect of sun and rain. I suspect the canvas will eventually wear out, but the rest of the gazebo which is heavy duty metal will last a lot longer. So, I ordered another canvas top from the manufacturer for $150. Since I bet we get five years from the original canvas and five from the new one we'll have at least ten years of use! [...]

We have purchased the Sean Conway Tiverton Gazebo this summer. We are very happy with this product, This provides shade along with beauty to our landscape within our yard.
Having this item secured with concrete anchors, survived several severe storms without any problems.
We are still waiting for the outdoor Chandelier that is out of stock.
