Enjoying the Gazebo June 11, 2007 Reviewer:  San Antonio Who (New Braunfels, TX, USA)  See all my reviews >

First of all, thank goodness our son was here to help! My husband assembled the legs and canvas top first. They used the corner of our fence to help hold up one end of the gazebo while they were assembling - another person would have worked great too - the taller the better. They "walked" it over to our patio when it was assembled. It is heavy and sturdy, but does need anchoring FOR SURE. It is larger than it appears and so 2 of the legs go out into our grass. We anchored them down with the included anchors and used bricks on the patio legs. The included anchors should be hammered in at an angle and bent to secure the legs. We are going to make concrete pads to anchor the gazebo down permanently. That night we had 70 mile per hour winds and lots of rain!! We went into the house and watched and hoped the gazebo stayed put. (This sounds calmer than we really were.) Whoopee, it did!! I think that was a major test to say the least. We love sitting out underneath the gazebo. It is very classy looking also and we have had lots of great compliments.

We are now looking for an outdoor ceiling fan. I would highly recommend this gazebo. We looked and looked before buying and are very happy so far. Just be sure to have enough helpers and to make sure it is anchored really well. I would have given the gazebo 5 stars if it assembled itself. :)

Gorgeous Tiverton Gazebo - One very satisfied customer June 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Happy, retired, civil servant See all my reviews >

Purchased my gazebo, March 2007 and had it professionally installed in June 2007. The installers did a shoddy job and damaged some of the parts. At least 3 people are required, particularly to lift the canopy into place. Installation took 4 hours. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the manufacturer provides replacement parts, 1-800-457-4652. This is a gorgeous gazebo of outstanding quality and with the ability to acquire replacement parts, I hope to enjoy it for many years to come. My gazebo has been installed on my concrete patio and anchored with 2" concrete screws, hopefully, to withstand the St. Louis weather. I will remove the fabric canopy in the winter and I was able to purchase an additional canopy from the manufacturer to replace it when it wears out. The cost to replace the canopy is $150--well worth the expense for a lifetime of pleasure--and "fabulous--ness" outdoors! I also purchased and installed the chandelier--Hello! I can't say enough about both products. Absolutely--drop-dead gorgeous!!!

Love it!! June 6, 2007 Reviewer:  Txkassigal See all my reviews >

I bought his last year and we love it. It took gorilla glue to hold it down. However, when the gusty winds came through I did not unsnap the top and it ripped it up pretty bad. I'm have having a really hard time finding a replacement top for it.....[...]

Very Satisfied June 1, 2007 Reviewer:  Sumthinguneek "tam s" (Anderson, CA USA)  See all my reviews >

Purchased this Gazebo over a year ago...During set up my husband placed 6x6 pressure treated posts up each corner support and lagged it to the frame of the deck..It has held up all last summer and winter and is looking great for this summer too! I recommend this one to everyone! It is worth every bit of its cost! The top faded and the netting did too, but I kept it up all year round too...and it survived! I get more compliments on it and we enjoy it to the fullest!!

Sturdy construction, quite challeging to erect. May 31, 2007 Reviewer:  Gazzmo "Gary L" (Northern CA)  See all my reviews >

Nice gazebo in this price range. Once built, it looks good and is reasonably rigid and sturdy (our main requirements).

Parts were well packaged and painted finish is good - no blemishes or missing components.

Instructions indicate 2 hours. That may be true for someone who has experience with this particular model and if the parts are accurately drilled. I experienced problems with some of the brackets:
1) mounting holes were in the wrong side of the plate (upper canopy mount). Not too bad, I drilled new holes in the correct location.
2) internal bracket where 2 of the 4 threaded mounting holes where located too close together. OK a bit more challenging as I not only drilled two new holes but also had to tap new 6mm x 1mm threads (had to buy a tap and die set ($39)to accomplish this)
3) Corner bracket for upper canopy holes had to be elogated .5 inch. Drill and file.

After this rework of the parts, I was able to complete the build. Luckily, I am reasonably handy and have a drill press - and did not let these "hassles" frustrate me.

Hopefully the cloth material on top will last.

Great Gazebo May 30, 2007 Reviewer:  Katy S. (Bakersfield, CA United States)  See all my reviews >

We've been waiting for a strong gazebo to hit the stores and this one fits the bill. It is a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. It's a very easy set to assemble but you'll need at least 3 people to get the top on (two lifting and one setting the legs in place). So far it's stood up to some big wind gusts. For extra protection we got a couple dog teathers (you twist them into the ground) and we zip-tied opposite legs to it. It looks great and we use our back yard more because of it!

Excellent, beautiful, and sturdy May 28, 2007 Reviewer:  maldb (NYC)  See all my reviews >

I decided to splurge and get a good gazebo after my cheaper purchases were twisted and ripped to shreds during some mild storms and boy am I glad I did! I placed it on a concrete patio and bolted it to the ground with concrete screws - so far, we've had a Nor'easter rip through here and a heavy storm hit last night and it's come through like a champ: no damage. The installation was simple and straightforward - we put it together in a couple of hours. TIP: instead of using the allen wrenches it comes with (for installation), use a 10mm socket wrench with an extension - it's alot faster, easier on the hands, and more secure (allen wrench slips). If you're placing it on grass, I recommend you dig a hole (12" square by 10-12" deep), pour cement and bolt it - much more secure. The leg bases will cover the cement and the grass will eventually cover any open spots. We've strung up patio lights under the dome frame and it's perfect for evening BBQs and just hanging out. I was lucky to have gotten it when it went on sale and used a 10% discount with the Target card - can't beat the price or quality. Highly recommend.

Shopping shouldn't be a gamble!!!!!! May 22, 2007 Reviewer:  Mark Farace Real Name (St. Louis, MO United States)  See all my reviews >

I'd thoroughly stand behind this item, in appearance, if it weren't for the fact that ours was defective. The top leaked so excessively, [...] we can either return the item IN IT'S ENTIRETY, or contact the manufacturer. I'm really looking forward to dismantling this and promised to bring the entire set back if that was the case. I suggest Vegas if you want to gamble, or another retailer if you want quality. BIG THUMBS DOWN!!

EXCELLENT GAZEBO! May 20, 2007 Reviewer:  Gigi2007 See all my reviews >

This is stunning. Beautiful design and workmanship isnt too bad also. I think its worth the money so far, but lets see how it holds up. Id be even more happy with it if my next door neighbor didnt go out and buy the same exact one, and put it up less than 60 ft away from mine. Kinda tacky. Its like we both are wearing the same dress to the same event! But,whatever. I totally love this gazebo and hopefully will have it for many years to come. Bolt it down to your patio if you can though. Gazebos take off like kites. A++++

STRONG & STUNNING!!!! May 20, 2007 Reviewer:  Satisfied in Seattle "Eddie" (Seattle)  See all my reviews >

We purchased this gazebo last week at a local Target store and I just got it assembled this weekend. I found the instructions easy to follow and had the structure up in just under 3 hours. I've done alot of searching and comparisons with other gazebos and this by far is the best. You MUST anchor the pillars in place or you can pretty much kiss your $500 goodbye. I have ours anchored to our wood deck using 1/4" x 3" deck bolts. [...] I plan on taking the canopy, canopy frame and netting down before fall to preserve the fabrics. With a little common sense, this gazebo should last years. Good luck!
