I just put up this Gazebo (April 2009) and did most of it by myself. Everything goes together pretty easily and it took me about 4 hours. You MUST have four people to put the fram on top of the posts. The only major problem I had was the screw issue. There are 8 screws that are longer than the rest and they are not seperated in the box. So I did not realize that I was using the longer screws where I shouldn't have. I could have had this put together in 2 hours but I had to go back and find the longer screws for the corner pieces. It is a little flimsy so I hope that it will withstand some wind but it looks nice.

We bought 2 of these plus all the furniture to go with it to the tune of 2 grand. The covers rip easily in the wind and so do the screens. We actually had one COLLAPSE on our patio on top of the table. Luckily the kids or dogs weren't under it or near it at the time. We took pictures but were told by Target that they would not cover anything or replace it. The original manufacturer refused to do anything either. The price has also gone up about [..] since we bought them about 3 years ago.

I purchased this gazebo in June 2008, My hubby and nephew assembed it for me (after work) in a couple hours. It's very sturdy (it's screwed into the deck), no problems with it leaking and no problems with the roof. We take the fabric off at the end of the season but leave the entire frame up year round. I would have given it 5 stars but it doesn't come with privacy drapes, which I am use to having. I bought 8 palm tree print shower curtains and hooked them to the same hooks as the mosquito netting and I also bought the Home Havenbury Chandelier, which is very beautiful but due to the summer heat... I wish I had hung a ceiling fan instead and just kept my outdoor lamps...
Oh and it's NOT black in color, it's dark but not black. I personally like it that way, it's very elegant.
There is a lot of room in this gazebo too, I have a loveseat, coffee table, 2 side tables, chair, ottoman and a daybed in mine and it's not over crowded. I also bought my patio (gazebo) furniture from Target, I wish they still sold it, as I would like to add more items from that line. I wanted to share a photo, but there was no option to add one. If you like the style of this Gazebo, buy it! Don't read too much into the bad reviews, as some of the problems may be due to the way the gazebo is being cared for.

Gazebo Canvas Top Shreds

I basically would have rated this gazebo 5 stars but I cant because of the canvas top. We had some heavy wind and rain and it ripped it to pieces. The bad thing is after extensive research I finally found where to go to order another one and it cost Half! of what the gazebo cost! so Im just taking the gazebo to the dump. The company only gives a 6 month warranty on it. (I guess they figure your purchasing it in the summer and 6 months takes you thru the mild weather here in Texas. What a "RIP OFF" I would not purchase this item just because of the top and I see from the other reviews the same thing is happening. Either Target needs to back this up or Target needs to not offer this product anymore.

3 Years of Pleasure and Still Going

We got our Tiverton gazebo in the spring of 2007, and we are now on the third full year of use with no issues. I proactively purchased a new canopy last year after reading a few reviews that they don't tend to last. However, I am still using the original canopy and it is holding up well. A little common sense goes a long way in the proper care and maintenance of a gazebo to help it last for many years. #1: If you are naive enough to think the canopy can survive a Chicago winter, you probably shouldn't be shopping for a gazebo until you've passed a common sense litmus test first. #2: If you think this type of gazebo will stay in place in high winds without first being properly secured, you probably shouldn't be shopping for a gazebo until you've passed the common sense litmus test in #1. #3: If you think a gazebo is a maintenance free structure you can just toss in the backyard and expect it to last for 15 years, you probably shouldn't be shopping for a gazebo unless you plan to replace it every couple of years. Compared to most similar gazebos, this has really been an excellent purchase. I expect to get many more years of pleasure from it, but I also expect to put some maintenance into it each year to make it last a long time.

Beautiful Gazebo - Canopy only lasted 3 summers

I purchased this exact gazebo at Target about 3.5 yrs ago and only paid 499.99 for it, I love it. The only problem is that this would have been it's 4th summer up but the canopy is totally rotten and we need to replace it. Good news is the canopy is availble to purchase but I counldn't imagine paying 799.99 and getting less than 4 yrs out of it. It's not really any fault of the manufacture the sun is just so strong it rots material and plastics so fast.
I still think it was worth the 499.99 not sure it's worth 799.99, keep your eyes on this to go on sale.

Great Gazebo but needs care

Just wanted to pass this along. I am on my 2nd gazebo, it is buit well but needs care. The 1st one I had for one year. I bolted it to the patio but never took down the fabric for the winter. It held up all winter, we had an icestorm in April which collapsed abd twisted the whole thing. Bought another one and took down the fabric come winter. The 2nd winter I didn't bother due to the sun damage the fabric had making it very britle. Over the winter it was completely shredded by heavy winds.
2 things to keep in mind
-always take down fabric in the off season
-keep in mind you will be replacing the fabric every couple years

I absolutely have to say we love this gazebo...as a matter of fact we loved it so much, we bought it twice. We purchased the first one in 2006. Everyone loved it. We spent so much time under it we couldn't bear to take it down...we waited too long. We got 3 feet of snow on Oct. 13th that brought down tree branches, which in turn then brought down the gazebo. I was devastated. Spring came...I went and bought another. We take the top off and have had no major issues. We put sand in the columns and bolted it to our brick patio my husband made for me. I have a wood deck with a pergola also...guess where most everyone sits?

I purchased this gazebo in 2005 right after Hurricane Katrina destroyed my cedar gazebo. There was a parts list included so I ordered an extra canopy ... I thought I'd get a half of season out of it if I was lucky ... but it took hurricane Gustave 3 seasons later to rip it to shreds .
A tree fell on top of it and crushed the splines ... I was so upset because I was told Target no longer handled this particular model and it was no longer being made .
I called the manufacture and they also told me they where not making this model , but they did have the parts I needed to repair it.
I purchased 200.00 worth of parts... and my gazebo is as good as new !!! Hope to enjoy it for a few more seasons (without Hurricanes )
I must say I was surprised to see this model on this site after I was told it was no longer being made !!!

I bought this and it looked beautiful. Light weight! So light within 3 days of being up it was blown on to the otherside of the patio and destroyed! That was the fastest money spent down the drain ever! Do not by if you have any type of wind near your house!
