We got 2 swings as gifts and the first one 'matched' my other gear so thats the one we used, and our baby hated it so I figured all swings were the same. I did not have a receipt for this swing so I couldn't return it so I figured why no try it out. Well, it was like night & day compared to the 1st swing. Baby LOVES it. The mobile totally catches his attention and the one we have has a mirror under the mobile that he loves to look up at. BEST of all is that my non-napping baby sleeps for hours in this thing. If it broke tomorrow I'd go buy another one! The side to side swinging is ideal and most don't have that feature. If you think about how you hold your baby when you rock him to sleep-thats the direction you rock, the baby goes side to side so I think thats why its so soothing. Highly recommended!

...it didnt break down! The first thing to break was the mobile. It still would light up, but it wouldn't turn. Next, the motor burned out. Not the best situation when you have a colicky baby at 2 am! I called Fisher Price and they are replacing the motor for free, but I have to wait 7-10 days to get it. Wht is wonderful is my daughters love it. This is the second baby to enjoy the swing and they are just amazed by the stars. Also, they both LOVE the bear on the mobile. They will gaze at him and laugh and smile at him like they smile and laugh with us! All in all it has been a life saver, and I wish I didn't have to wait a week+ for the replacement motor.

My son loves this swing! The colors are nice and the swing is so comfy. The only thing I dont like about it is that it takes FOREVER to start swinging! I try to help it go and the motor makes the seat stop and then it has to gain momentum again. I also wish it plugged into the wall.

This swing is amazing! When my son came home from the hospital he hated being on his back...so needless to say the crib/bassinet wasn't going to work. We tried him in the swing at night and he loved it! He slept in the swing at night for the first 3 months! Now we use the swing during the day for naptimes. He loves swinging and looking around. He has liked both styles of swinging as well. Be prepared with lots of D batteries or even better get the rechargable ones. But this swing is amazing...well worth the money.

It is rather large, but works wonderfully. My son loves the music and loves to watch the critters move around. I have only used the swing in one direction, and he falls asleep in it. Great!

I used this swing for naps only for my son beginning mid-march 2008. By mid may, the music had stopped working properly, and the mobile no longer moved. Fresh batteries were always used. We took it apart and saw that several of the connections had shorted. We taped them together with electrical tape (we don't have a sautering iron), and til about mid june, that held together. Now, none of it works; it doesn't swing, play music, and the mobile doesn't move at all. There is no way to repair this as far as I know. I have friends who bought this same swing in December 2007, and it had pooped out for them by April 2008. Unfortunately, both our families had very good luck with this swing for our babies' naps, and now that we can't use the swing for this purpose, are very unhappy. I wouldn't buy this swing again, or recommend it to anyone else--unless you plan on using it for 2 months or so, and then throwing it out.

Granted we just bought this, but so far, we LOVE it! My 3 month old baby hated her hand-me-down swing because it wasn't comfortable and didn't rock her enough. As soon as we put our fussy baby in the swing, she fell asleep! Hallelujah! We were worried about the motor, after reading the reviews, but a new one only costs 26 bucks from the Fisher Price website, so we're willing to take that risk for a good swing that plugs in! The ones that only take batteries EAT them like crazy!

My daughter loves this swing! She sleeps in it the first half of most nights! The biggest problem I have with it is that the music stops after so long.....I wish it would just keep going because a lot of time she wakes up and starts crying until I put the music back on! Also the batteries seemed to die fast.......but that might be because she uses it every night!!

My daughter loves this swing. Some nights it’s the only thing that can put her to sleep, it has been a huge life saver in the early morning hours. I love that fact that it’s extremely “girly” the lighted butterfly mobile projects onto the walls in a dark room (3am) and entertains my baby. The music and nature sounds put my baby to sleep in less than 5 minutes sometimes. I would recommend this product to anyone who is having a little girl.

I do not like the way the swing is made. The feet do not stay flat on the floor when my baby is in it. When she is swinging on the lowest setting it is going super fast for a newborn and the left foot raises from the floor. What would happen at a higher setting? Would it flip over? I bought it because of the 2 swing motions and other features to entertain baby but I would not recommend.
