Ours broke after only a couple of days. Now, there is only one speed for the swing rather than the 6 it is supposed to feature. Unfortunately, that speed is fast, which does not work for a newborn. Our little guy cries when the thing gets going. The "soothing" ticking sound of the swing mechanism is kind of harsh. Maybe this is because our swing is broken, and the gears are being chewed up.
Keep shopping if you want long-lasting swing time.

I bought this swing for my god-son back in September. His poor tummy was always upset (due to colic) and his mom never got a break. The first time we put him in the swing, he fell asleep and stayed asleep for a while. He absolutely loved his little "recliner". His mom was finally able to get some rest. She says she still uses it to this day, but he's starting to get a little big for it. It's now my turn to have a baby and am due in July, and this swing is one of the first items that is going on my registry.

My daughter loves this swing, i have never had any problems with it and she uses it alot. It is very safe even if other people say its not. If you do have a small baby like i did, always watch the child just in case she might be to small for it and she could fall to the side or something, but now my daughter is big enough to fit in it and she is very happy. Every mother should have this. (NOTE: IF YOU HAVE HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THIS SWING, HERE IS SOME ADVICE, WATCH YOUR KIDS...DON'T LEAVE THEM ALONE NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE. THE SWING DOESN'T SUBSITUTE AS A BABYSITTER)

This is the one piece of baby gear that I would not do without. Our son adores his lamb swing. I wouldn't change a thing. It soothes him and gives mom and dad time to get some things done. Don't worry that the swing does not plug in. We have replaced the batteries maybe 3 times in the 6 months we've owned the swing. And the swing is on a few hours everyday.

First, I've been reading over some of the negative reviews, and many of them mention butterflies and light shows... there are no butterflies or light shows on this model, so those must be reviews of an older model. Please do not let negative reviews that mention light shows or butterflies scare you away from this AMAZING swing! (This model has a mirrored globe and leaves/teddy bears on the mobile, as you can see in the picture.)

This swing is wonderful. I cannot emphasize that enough! I really think I would not have survived my son's first two months without it. In fact, he is sleeping in it right now.

The ONLY improvement that could be made is if it had a cord to plug into an outlet, although we do get 12-14 hours of swinging from the 4 D batteries, we just put them on charge every night.

There is a mirrored globe that my son adores - he stares and coos at it constantly. The motor is SUPER quiet, there is volume control for the songs (which are actually soothing!), it goes back and forth AND side to side, and has both an upright and reclining position. It also has several different speeds, to suit your baby's taste. My fiend's baby - who screams constantly unless she is being held - was happy in it for almost an hour on the very first try. My son spends 6-8 hours in it each day while he's napping, and I am actually considering buying another swing for when I bring my son to work with me - it's that good.

this is the worst swing that I have ever used I have a 4 year old and her swing lasted through her and 2 cousins. This swing has only worked about a month out of the four that I've had it and then you can't take it back because its been over 90 days. It was a gift and even if you call fisher price it takes about two and a half months to get anything done.

This swing is hands down the best baby item I’ve bought so far. My son sleeps in it every night and loves the side to side motion (hates the front to back) we couldn’t get him to sleep in his crib for the first few weeks and didn’t know what to do, we started swaddling him and then strapping him in the swing and now he sleeps up to 6 hours night straight between a feeding (he’s 11 weeks old). He also naps in it during the (not swaddled) and take s a good 45 min to hour nap twice a day. He’s a big boy now and I’m just worried what I’ll do when he grows out of it. Definitely worth the money buy this swing!!!
The only thing I would change is that you could also plug it in, Since he sleeps in it and it runs all night up to 11 hours a night the batteries do have to get changed every couple weeks, which can be aggravating in the middle of the night.

From the first day we brought my son home he loves this swing. it looks so comfy and cozy and he will fall asleep in just minutes. I am going to be very sad when he grows out of this swing.

We've had the swing for a month now. It's very rare that preemie baby will sleep away from us. He doesn't like his crib. But he gets to sleep in the swing. I like that there are 2 motions - side to side and front to back - because our baby favors one over the other at times. The sounds are also soothing. Now that he is more aware of objects, he is enjoying the rotating mobile overhead. Last but not least, I like the soft cushion which warms faster compared with vinyl.

This is really the best swing ever. I recenlty had my 4 th baby and used before the Fisher Price Aquarium swing. I saw this swing at my friends house and ordered shortly the same one. The seat is so nice and not as narrow as other swings. The cusion is super soft. The seat positioning for a newborn baby is also much nicer. I alos love the soft colors which looks nicer in my livingroom instead of a bright royal blue one.
I can highly recommend this swing and wish they would have made this one years ago.
