I was hesitant also when I saw the price and heard the mixed reviews about the attachments from other sites. If you cant figure out the attachments then you had ride the little bus to school. This vacuum is so convenient and I was completely embarrassed and amazed the first time I vacuumed and saw what it picked up. My rugs look new again! This vacuum is worth every penny! My sister is buying a house and keeps saying she wants one! This will definitely be her house warming gift!!!

For the record, we have 2 dogs and 2 cats.

You have to see it to believe it! Abolutely amazing! I've gone through 2 vacuums in 2 years and the Animal sucks up the competition! I was hesitant because of the price but this little gem is worth every penny! I would reccomend it to anyone and everyone. Best vacuum I've ever used period.

I could not believe how much pet hair this thing picked up. We have 2 cats and a chocolate lab. We were concerned about our daughter getting so much pet hair in her mouth now that she's close to her crawling/fingers in the mouth stage. When our old vacuum broke a few weeks ago we purchased this one and I have been amazed at what it has picked up each time. LOVE IT!

I love the suction power on this vacuum! I hate the thought of using other vacuums that "dust" your carpet as they usually only pick up the top layer of dust and don't go deeper. My carpet feels softer after use, can't explain that. It is lightweight and seems to run itself. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and am so happy with the purchase.

This vacuum is wonderful. I have a Eureka that has great suction as long as the filter is clean...and it's clean until I run it 5 minutes and after that it's called clogged and I have to beat the dust and hair out of it to continue. This Dyson doesn't have that problem, the filter doesn't even looked used even after vacuuming everything in my house, including furniture. It's so easy to use, everything from emptying the bin to using the telescoping wand...it's icredible! You have try it to believe it!

This vacuum is the best we have ever used. We are old so we have used quite a few. This beats the central vacuum model. It picks up dirt that no other machine can find. Go for it!!!

I got this for Christmas. It is amazing. I was using a Kirby 4th generation. I must say as impressed as I was with the Kirby demo, it's nothing compared to the thrill I got running around vacuuming and giggling on Christmas morning, watching all the stuff the Dyson Absolute DC17 picked up. We have a saint bernard and three cats, so there is always lots of fur floating around here and the Dyson takes care of it all. Couldn't be more thrilled

I love it! I got this vacuum for Christmas from my mom. Just a day or two after using her Kirby on my carpets, I used my Dyson and I'm amazed at how much stuff comes out of my carpet. It seems like you can always get something out of it! The previous owners had two huge dogs that shed a lot, I'm highly allergic to pet hair, so this is a great investment for me. I haven't even used the attachments yet or Zorb stuff since we have very old nasty carpet that needs to be replaced anyway. But our carpet does look very different after a quick vacuum!

I bought the DC17 after I compared it with a DC07 and a DC15 and notice a stronger suction all 3 were displays at the store. It is a little bit louder then the others, but I was use to worse with my old Dirt Devil. Brought it home and works Excellent! When your vacuuming it feels as if it would have self propel, which it doesn't. It is disgusting to see what comes out of the canister. We have 3 kids and it really does seem as if we never vacuumed the house. When you empty the bin I didn't notice a big cloud of dust to come out. It comes with the spot cleaner and the zorb, and they both work great! the spot cleaner gets out the spots my steam cleaner can't! Carpets finally look good!

The only down fall for me is that not all the attachments lock onto the machine, which for some people that's good.

I did own a Eureka vacuum that was only 3 years old. The day we baught my dyson we vacuumed with the old one. Then the new one. You will never believe that the Dyson canister was like half full. That is Gross, To think that you are cleaning but just really wasting your time. We own 4 cats and 1 dog and wouldnt trade this vacuum for anything. If you are looking this is the one to buy.
