Ive had no probmles and we use it weekly on our 4400sqft home. Its great at picking up pet hair.

I love this vacuum so much that I bought one for my niece's wedding gift. I have 4 hairy little dogs and live on a farm. I vacuum every day. It amazes me how much stuff can come out of a 'clean' carpet. The warranty is great. The folks at Dyson are very helpful and any problems I have had in the 3 years I have had my Animal have been taken care of right away.
The hose and cord are long enough to do the stairs from one end or the other without having to move the machine. And my niece loves hers too!

I have only had my Dyson for 2 years and I clean the filters exatly when you should and how you should. I have 3 area rugs so I dont use it all the time. It already will suck things in then just spit the small particles back out and the extension arm for smaller pick up completely lost suction. To top that off the closest place to have it repaired is over 200 miles from here. WASTE OF MONEY.

I have had several vacuums in my life, including a new fancy kirby. This dyson outdoes them all.

It picks up everything. I ran it after running my kirby and filled the canister.

I love the long extension tool and the easy to dump canister.

Plus it does not "smell" at all when you use it. Everything stays in and your air stays clean.

A wonderful vacuum. With 5 kids and a dog, I strongly recommend.

Has great suction. Amazing how much more dirt was not being picked up by my old vacuum. This vacuum is the best.

We love our new vacuum. It really picks up the dog hair that our dog sheds. Our other vacuum would just leave the hair on the carpet, and we would have to pick it up by hand. We got it for 20 percent off, too, which is a fantastic value. You can really tell you have vacuumed after using the Dyson DC17 Animal vacuum.

It was a difficult decision to spend this much on a vacuum but we have 3 cats so you can imagine the hair around the house. I got it home and my husband used it in the living room. We could not believe all the hair/dirt it picked up. The rugs look brand new! This is so worth the money. It was easy to set up and easy to use. I couldn't be happier with our decision.

I LOVE MY DYSON! This gem will make you wonder how you ever thought your carpets were clean before! The first day I had mine, I vacuumed the whole house, and had to dump the canister over and over and over! My previous vacuum had been a Hoover Wind Tunnel, and even when it did work (frequent belt replacement, beater bar tangles, self-propel died - hated it!), didn't pick up half as much as this Dyson. I will never own another brand again. The only down side to this is the awkwardness of trying to use the pull out hose with the various attachments. (It's great for the crevice tool and the little round brush for cobwebs, etc, but I can't imagine using this to vacuum whole rooms with hard floors with the extra attachment you can buy for that. When you pull on the hose, rather than dragging the vacuum with you like a canister, it'd pull the vacuum over. so, I've kept my Kenmore canister vacuum for that.) But, despite that, I still give this 5 stars because it's absolutely the best vacuum ever for carpets & heavy rugs. If you have pets, you will LOVE THIS VACUUM! I'm actually buying a new one, because I'm giving my current Dyson to my daughter.

This vacuum really has great suction. I cannot believe how much dirt and pet hair it picks up every single day. While the product is great, you can find cheaper sales than they give at Target. Sorry Target, but thanks for selling a great product!

I own this thing, its about a year old and its having its motor replaced right now. Here's the problem with this vacuum. Its sold as for use with pets, yet the whole part of the upper cyclone chamber CANNNOT be opened up and cleared of debris. I spent hours running water through it to try and get the cat hair completely out of the upper chamber and there is NO getting it all out. Also, there is a filter in the motor assembly that cannot be cleaned without disassembling the motor housing and it costs 40 bucks. I'm paying for one of those, though Dyson is paying for the motor. The repair guy where I took it (A Dyson authorized Repair Shop) told me they DON'T recommend them because they don't hold up, the cyclone chamber CANNOT be cleaned and they are over priced. If you don't believe me at least do this, call a vacuum service place that services them and ask them, "Hey what do you think of the Dyson DC-17). The shop I went to had about 6 of em sitting waiting repair for a lot of the same issues I have.
