Pass on this one January 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Jill (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

I had the Walgreens brand humidifier last year that broke after one season, so I thought I'd try out the Vicks. It looked nice and had a filter as well. The cap to the water tank never screwed on right no matter how hard I tried. Water would always be leaking or the cap would fall off completely! The hole was so small that I couldn't clean the tank, at least the Walgreens one was useful while it worked. Also, the filter said it would only have to be changed once a season, but mine had mold on it after only one month. Spend the extra $20 and get a better quality humidifier so you don't have to purchase another one mid-season like me.

No Problems - nice and quiet January 20, 2008 Reviewer:  Michelle Calvello Real Name (Nanuet, NY United States)  See all my reviews >

I disagree with the negative reviews. We have had this unit for close to 10 months now and have had no problems. It is wonderfully quiet, easy to fill, doesn't spill or leak. And the filters are no where near $20...don't know where he got his from. They are $12 for 2, direct from the manufacturer. I would highly recommend this humidifier.

love it!! January 18, 2008 Reviewer:  Mommy to Ally "Megan" (Michigan)  See all my reviews >

I've had this humidifier for about two months now, it works great! I've had absolutely no problems with leaking, although I keep it on the tile floor in our bathroom. I have basically been running it non-stop since I've gotten it. On the low setting I only have to fill up the tank once every two days or so, and on the high setting I refill it every night.
I love that it automatically adjusts to the humidity in the room, and will either speed up or slow down the amount of water it throws into the air. Our bedroom and bathroom is relatively big and this thing does such a good job. I turned it off for a few days once and let everything dry out, we could tell the difference in the air immediately that night.
The only thing that might become a pain is I've had to replace the filter once already, a month after I purchased it, and am probably going to be looking at buying another one shortly. They are relatively inexpensive though, and it works so much better with a new filter each month, so I don't mind really.
Since this is going in the nursery once our daughter is born I bought the protec cleaning cartridges for peace of mind and have had absolutely no build up of scale or anything whatsoever.
I would definitely recommend it to others and plan on buying another one for us once our daughter is born.

Bad choice! January 17, 2008 Reviewer:  Tony M "Tony" (NC, USA)  See all my reviews >

I had this one for over a year, it produces smell, noise, and I have to change filter mostly every 2 weeks, and the filter costed about 20.00USD, it's almost about the same price with the filter itself. It looks nice, but it doesn't do any good.

Had 2 for THREE years! January 17, 2008 Reviewer:  A. Jacobsen Real Name See all my reviews >

These are great. Small so it can be placed in a tight area. Cleans every easily and doesnt leak if you have the filter in correctly and you dont tip it to each side. We love it. We have 2 of them. We have had 1 for three years now and we just bought a second one for my new daughters room. We love them. They are on the louder side (fan noise) when on high. We like that so it drowns out the noise in the house when they are sleeping. I would recommend this to anyone. Enjoy!

Very poor design January 5, 2008 Reviewer:  Spends too much "J G" See all my reviews >

I agree with the previous poster that the hole at the bottom of this unit leaks water all over the place.

I personally made the mistake of putting this on my desk to have the water drip all over my computer and shorting it out.

I'm now out a humidifier and a dvd drive.

no good January 1, 2008 Reviewer:  New daddy (CA)  See all my reviews >

This thing was poorly designed. It leaks. I almost threw it down my hallway after it nearly leaked half of its contents on my carpet. I'm smarter than that though. I threw it into my bathroom instead. The thing didn't break! I guess I'll keep trying to use it. Vicks or Target should pay for my carpet cleaning. This thing is really poorly designed. When I design something, it better work and work well or I don't worky anymore.

Don't Bother December 26, 2007 Reviewer:  Snoopy fan "Jamila" (New York, NY)  See all my reviews >

I just bought this humidifier for my boyfriend, it did not take us long to realize it is going back to the store. It leaks the minute you put water in the tank, it is poorly engineered. The water leaks in huge quantities from a hole in has at the bottom and also from the back where the filter is. we never got to plug it in since it started leaking right away. I really rate it with zero stars! We don't recommend it!

Works well, but PLEASE sell the filters also December 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Online Mom (MN)  See all my reviews >

Works well when you have a filter, but Target doesn't sell the filters and they get dirty FAST! Then what?

Love this product! December 6, 2007 Reviewer:  newlywed wife "Amber C" (Maryland)  See all my reviews >

I bought this humidfier about a month ago and I love it. I have had no problems with it leaking or anything so far. A little hint, if you run it all the time the less chance it has of building up any mold or mildew. Also it says it runs for up to 18 hours, but we have ran ours for over 24 hours at a time on low with out refilling it. I got this for my sinus problems and for my husband who gets nose bleeds in the winter. before we got this he was getting one almost everyday since buying this he's only had one so it must be doing its job!!!
