We've been using this for a year now. It hasn't gotten any louder and works pretty smooth. Need to change the filter every 6 months which is standard for any cool mist humidifier. You won't regret buying it.

This humidifier is like an air conditioner. It does not put out enough water into the air to be considered a humidifier. I hate it!

I bought this humidifier when my daughter was born 2 years ago, and she still uses it. It helps counteract the dry heat of the winters as well as making just enough sound to lull her to sleep.
