Epilady - back in action! January 28, 2007 Reviewer:  Halle Gold See all my reviews >

I used to own an Epilady 17 years ago - the one with the coil. Although it hurt at first, I stuck with it and I am thankful for it ever since!

My old Epilady broke down about 5 years ago, so I bought a Braun, which, at the time, I thought was a pretty good replacement. Then, after that one died, I found the Epilady Legend online, so I went back to Epilady.

Ladies, this machine is great! quiet, smooth and fast. Got those short hairs the Braun could not get. I have been epilating for many years, and I can tell you that this machine hurts less than any of the others I tried before. Especially good was the job it did around the back of my knee and my upper thighs. You can still feel it, but it's gentler. I have used it underarms, and it was great.

I also liked the rechargeable aspect. This was so much easier to use than my previous corded Braun. Same power with or without the cord - kinda neat.

Would I recommend the Legend to my friends? YES.

An Epilady Fan! February 13, 2007 Reviewer:  An Epilady Fan See all my reviews >

What can I say... I love this product!! I have been using an epilator for years. I had a previous older Philips and then one day it suddenly died on me so I purchased the Legend. The hair removal process is faster and a lot more comfortable to use. The head is slightly curved so using this product in areas such as the bikini area and underarms becomes a lot more comfortable. It grabs the finer and coarser hairs (even when they are really short). When charged the machine runs just as fast as it does when plugged in (a feature I never thought I would use but defintely has come in handy). The user no longer has to worry about the shaving effect some other epilators create(the Legend truly does remove the hair from the root). Overall the machine exceeded my expectations! I would recommend this to anyone who is sick of having to shave everyday or worry about waxing and wants to be hair free for about 3-4 weeks.

110% Satisfaction May 21, 2007 Reviewer:  xTamarax (Middleboro, Massachusetts, USA)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this epilator a month ago and I am very happy with my purchase. The cordless feature is great, although you can use this product while it's connected to the charger. That's a plus if you forget to charge it like I do somtimes! The size allows for accurate handling, two speed choices & more tweezers allow you to epilate faster, which means the "pain" is over with sooner. I use this epilator for my legs, under arms & bikini area with no problems.

I highly recommend this product!

P.S. If you think that one epilator brand allows hair to grow back slower, you're mistaken. All epilators do the same thing-- pull out hair. Body chemistry differs & your hair may grow faster/slower than others. Keep that in mind.

Legend should get 6 stars! April 7, 2007 Reviewer:  Marcia Connor (Chicago, IL)  See all my reviews >

I Love this machine! Fast, powerful and quiet. I had a series of other epilators, but none were as good as the Epilady Legend.

The rechargeable use is great. I can take it with me anywhere, and use it anywhere I want to. I hated the cords on my older machines. They always got in the way.

I read some reviews about the Legend not being strong enough, but if you charge it up full like it says in the manual, it is super strong and fast. And the charge lasts all the way through the epilation. I ran it all the way down once to test it. It was on for 90 minutes!!!

And did I mention quiet? I epilate while watching TV at night, and I don't even have to turn up the volume.

Thanks Epilady! Thanks for making an epilator that I love... after trying so many others, I was about to give in a go back to shaving. Now I will really "never shave again" - a slogan I saw in an Epilady ad in Allure.

Epil: Usage Hints from a Pro! April 7, 2009 Reviewer:  JP (Dallas, TX, USA)  See all my reviews >

I actually bought the Braun Silk-epil in the store but I don't see it online to review...I DO recommend it, the light helps you see little hairs and it has mult. great attachments & very effective. Like everyone says--it hurts, it's like waxing pain only slower but it's worth it to never have regrowth in-between waxing since you can touch up every day if you wanted to with this. I'm a pro & have my own brazilian waxpot, but can't do it all sight unseen w/o problems...with this, it's perfect.
A few hints girls: 1. NEVER epil/wax/tweeze/laser when you're HORMONAL--it will hurt MUCH more then, SERIOUSLY! 2. Take a hot shower first to open pores for less resistance. 3. Hold skin very tight in small sections when doing your bikini/brazilian & never press it into the skin or you'll get red pinched marks that take a couple of days to disappear. 4. Use the massaging roller attachment for less pain til you get used to it; after the first few times, you'll never be removing as much hair again at one time. For very short hair touchups, I use the EfficiencyPro Clip which is closer but slightly more painful. 5. Take your time moving it along the skin or it will miss hair & go in different directions to follow hair growth. 6. Yes do it at nite so you're not seen red & if you're prone to breakouts, don't do it when that matters--give yourself time to clear up--and keep the skin very clean with a sensitive skin salicylic wash/toner AFTER your skin's calmed down-test a spot before you put it everywhere or it can sting! A GENTLE salicylic scrub can also help prevent ingrown hairs.
The pain's worth it for the results. A cocktail or two or a Tylenol seems to help too! :) It's hard to be a girly girl!

No more need for waxing August 15, 2008 Reviewer:  TBL "TBL" (Dallas, TX)  See all my reviews >

I have been using this product for about a month and have hit the gold mine! I'd been getting my legs waxed for 10 years and this is the 1st time I have even considered stopping. I use the Epilady on my legs, bikini area and even my underarms. I used to shave my underarms and decided to try this on them. They are so smooth and the 'shadow' I used to have under my arms is barely noticeable (I guess because the hair has been removed from the root and not just cut by a razor). I touch up the areas about every other day and have no discomfort at all, as long as I hold the skin taut. Great Product!!

Beauty is Painful! April 11, 2008 Reviewer:  asds0524 "Andrea S" (TEXAS)  See all my reviews >

Ok ladies let's be honest we all want to be born with legs that will never need to be shaved. But our reality is that we eventually grow up and need to take part in that dreaded task more than once a week. I am a young woman in my 20s and HATE to shave my legs! After years of being tried of the results of a conventional blade razor I took a chance on this thing called an epilator. My goal was to stay silky smooth while my husband was on leave from Iraq. Not only am I satisfied I am addicted! YES the first time was very painful and small red dots appeared where the follicles had been plucked from their homes. So if you are planning to purchase this item for a special event plan to do so four or five months in advance. I have been using mine for about six months, my legs and pain tolerance are use to the plucking discs. Be sure to start off with clean, dry legs each time. Save the lotion and moisturizers until after the treatment. Don't plan on getting perfect results the first time either. Hair grows at different rates and in different directions. It may take one to two weeks to get EVERY hair that grows on your legs. Be patient! Use small, slow circles when using your epilator. This one comes with two different speeds. Use the one that is most comfortable to you. There is no easy painless way to get rid of leg hair but this epilator comes VERY close!

first time user December 13, 2008 Reviewer:  Tara (Lafayette, IN)  See all my reviews >

This is my first time using an epilator, and I expected it to be really painful, which it was. The first two times I used it, I couldn't stand to do very much (about 2-5 minutes each time). Then, I decided to give it a better try and sat down in bed watching a movie. I epilated for a full 2 hours, and it wasn't nearly as bad as it was at first.

While it still hurts, it's not unbearable. The more you do an area, the less it hurts. I assume this is for two reasons: first, you get used to the feeling, and second, you have less and less hair the more you go over an area. I used it on my bikini line first, which was what I bought it for. I've never been able to remove my hair down there with wax, but this worked. The key is to keep the skin stretched taut. I then used it on my arms, which have never been very hairy. I found that the finer my hair, the less it hurt (arms and stomach were not very painful).

I also used it on my legs, and the pain was not that bad. It didn't do a great job, but my hair is very short there still (just stubble), so I'm going to go over it again in a few days. I haven't tried the armpits yet, but I plan to try that as well.

All in all, it is painful, but so is tweezing and waxing, and shaving can be irritating in some areas and doesn't last nearly as long. I would buy this again, and I'm very happy with it, but I have never used one before, so I have no point of comparison.

disappointed with quality March 31, 2007 Reviewer:  me See all my reviews >

I was a fan of Epilady, but this one is worse than my old model. It is slow, and the cordless feature is a disappointment because the power is not there. I am returning mine.

Good To Have! May 5, 2008 Reviewer:  M. Cruz Real Name (United States)  See all my reviews >

Those days of stubble are long gone. I use this epliator on my legs and underarms on a regular basis. They keep you smooth much longer than shaving - especially the underarm area - with shaving you still see the dark roots, but this epilator elimates that! At first it was almost unbearable on my legs, but after I suffered through it, the next couple of times are much much better. Now I don't even feel it! It runs on battery AND plugged in which is a definite plus! I take it with me on vacations and can leave the charger at home.
