The Worst Phone July 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Bee Ruth See all my reviews >

I purchased this phone and it worked fine for about a week. Then after that is started turning itself off, even when I was using it. I would have a hard time getting it back on. Then is started turning itself off and then on and off and then on over and over. This was my 3rd VM phone and no probs with the others so when I purchased it I threw away my carton and receipt. =( I was forced to call Virgin about the phone. They were no help, they didn't even pretend to want to help me. So, buy at your own risk...and keep all the packing and receipts....

Worst EVER! Buyer BEWARE!! July 24, 2008 Reviewer:  Frustrated Buyer "Becki W" (Wisconsin)  See all my reviews >

I had to order TWO of these phones from target.com! The first one came and the bar code on the packaging was never scanned before it was shipped out to me. When I got the phone, I could NOT activate the phone thru Virgin Mobile because the phone was locked, due to the fact that whoever packaged the phone, never bothered to scan the bar code first. All the phones in the stores clearly state that the phones cannot be activated until scanned at check-out. So I called the guest relations number at Target, and they promplty sent me out a new phone and promised this one would be scanned first. NOT! Same darn thing! I drove this phone to Target in town and the customer service lady ended up having to treat it like I was returning it, then I had to re-purchase it, so they could scan the bar code, and THEN, the dang bar codes were invalid! NOT ONE bar code anyplace on the packaging worked....she kept getting an "invalid code" error on her register. So now I have TWO locked Cyclops phones in MINT condition that I cant activate and will have to return for my money back. What a waste of time!!! Buyer beware if you plan to try and order a cell phone from Target.com online. You are better off getting one physically from the store itself so the phone can be scanned at the check-out when you purchase it.

Not Bad July 13, 2008 Reviewer:  BTG See all my reviews >

Maybe the best Virgin Mobile phone so far. But is not perfect. For one, there's no bluetooth feature. Then it takes lousy pictures even at the highest resolution of 1.3 megapixels. In addition to the negatives, there are no bars unless you are standing right under the cell site tower and the transmitting/receiving antenas. I have seen much better signal strengths in phones with an external antenna. Also, the phone goes to silent or vibrating mode at the slightest touch of the volume button. If it is hooked on your belt and you sneeze the volume either goes on mute or it goes to defening high. But what do you expect from a 50 bux phone? Virgin is Virgin and China is China. If you want to save your photos in your computer, you cannot. You will have to upload them to the virgin's website for an additional 25 cents each. But why bother? Who wants to save pictures that look as they were shot by a toy camera? The rest of its features are nice, like the display, the feel and the style and its also quick with its functions. (No lag).

HORRIBLE November 9, 2008 Reviewer:  Blahblahblahblah See all my reviews >

I brought this as my first phone thinking that it was cheap and i would only have to pay 25 a month. Which was all true but wat i didn't think about was what i was getting for that price! And i got the world worst service! Who doesn't care what your problem is that is once you get past the auto answer, their only solutiuon ever is to change your number. And if you get this phone for texting like me they seem to drop every other message sent or reviecd. And the aim functune never works. It takes 5 mintues to send or recieve a pic. And any pictures you take are either too dark or too light. And when trying to look through pictures it will shut down or freeze. Not to mention the paint chips and it will get turned on to High and virbrant in the middle of class! so if you like the world worst phone this is for you.

An okay phone January 24, 2008 Reviewer:  A caring fan See all my reviews >

I bought this because it was on sale. The camera isn't that good, washed out most of the pictures I took. The letters on the keypad are very small and hard to read when they are lit up. The worst part is the service. [...] they are on the Sprint network so that means I couldn't get a signal to download my email and IM. Those two items were the main reason I got this phone, besides the price. So now I'm taking it back to the store. I've never had so much trouble with a company until I got messed up with Virgin Mobil.

Excellent and feature-laden for a pre-paid phone June 10, 2007 Reviewer:  MsJazzMaven "Adina Hirschmann" (Bergen County, NJ, USA)  See all my reviews >

This was an upgrade from the Oystr. Rivals many subscription-plan phones, especially with the outside scrolling window, text and picture messaging capability. Was going to get the Switchback for the texting keyboard, but liked the bigger screen and more substantial feel of the Cyclops. Aside from the keyboard tradeoff, the texting options were a nice surprise, especially to my recipients'e-mail addresses and being able to send faxes (composed on the keypad of the phone). In addition, the phone has some (very) basic Web mail (I can check my Juno and send messages limited only by thumb endurance and when visual fatigue sets in---LOL) and browsing options. The camera is a good pinch-hitter for a quick snapshot for viewing on a comparably sized screen, but when enlarged on the computer, the images look very grainy. On the audio side, the small mono speaker rendered the ringtones with surprising accuracy. Would have liked stereo capability and a wireless option for a headset (like Bluetooth), however, the alarm clock volume could be set loud enough to wake me from a sound sleep. I would have given it 5 stars if the supplied graphics (more suitable for younger users) and ringtones (some of them were obnoxious) weren't locked. I could have freed up space for more photos and my preferred sounds.

Switch-Back Vs. Cyclops May 6, 2007 Reviewer:  PhoneCrazed (Dallas,Tx)  See all my reviews >

I am a phone addict and was once on virginmobile's service. The i decided to checkk out some virginmobile phones so i checked out some phone reviews. Many like the switch back, some disliked the phone.Got average reviews, but very attractive.so i decided to possibly get,but then came the mighty 1eyed cyclops.1.3 megapixel Vs. 300k pixel(switch-back).The Cyclops got better reviews than the switch back. They pretty much have the same features (cyclops a little more),but the cyclops has a better price and i nice design(kinda bulky). The Switch back looks like a phone from the future(wierd looking, but still cool).Who would When the bout...We'll c once i buy me a Cyclops....I really like the cyclops...cant w8 2 buy it
