Looks good if you can put it together February 16, 2009 Reviewer:  Targetguest "Meg J." (Fresno, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

Bought two of these when they were on sale. Assembly was difficult-not all the holes lined up correctly, some screws were missing, some holes were missing...very frustrating! Two of the boards cracked during assembly. I'm not impressed.

Owner for 2 years, still LOVE it! February 15, 2009 Reviewer:  Ashleigh Sturm "PrettyMaker" Real Name (Baltimore, MD, USA)  See all my reviews >

This piece looks much more expensive than it really was. I've owned this bookcase for 2 years and with daily use it has still held up beautifully! Looks great, was super easy to assemble (im a lady with 0 handyman skills) and is still a wonderful edition to my home office. A+ Target!

Bring on the arthritis! January 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Happy Froggy "Audra" (Orlando, FL)  See all my reviews >

I love the look of these bookcases.. .but "fun and rewarding" is not synonymous with "holes don't line up and cams won't lock without stripping out" in my book! IF you can get the pegs and whatnot to line up... the cams don't tighten. Maybe it was just my set... who knows? Also, the leg was split so when I put the dowel insert in it, it just snapped right off. Had to glue it back together. You get what you pay for? It's a good bookcase if you need one in a pinch... just be sure your "in a pinch" allows for the 5-6 hours of assembly time required.

Good Stuff January 4, 2009 Reviewer:  Shopper42 "JB" (Brooklyn, NY)  See all my reviews >

Even if it isn't the best quality, it looks like it. I bought it on sale for $ and am very happy, even though it took 2 hours to put together.

LOVE the look...HATE the assembly! January 1, 2009 Reviewer:  Aiden's Mommy "Shannon K." (Conroe, TX)  See all my reviews >

I bought these shelves after we had water damage from Hurricane Ike. I bought 2 5-shelf cases and 1 2-shelf case. The instructions said the assembly would be "fun and rewarding". I guess the writer's idea of fun and rewarding was to spend 4 1/2 to 5 hours of your time swearing like a sailor at the cam bolts ( most did not want to lock) and screw 41 tiny screws into the back of each one (I am not even joking). The shelves turned out beautiful and I think they will be sturdy enough but my fingers and hands still hurt from assembling them. So if you like that kind of thing or know someone who does who will put them together for you, go ahead and buy a few. Otherwise save your aching fingers for something else a little more enjoyable.

Box of junk! October 17, 2008 Reviewer:  Disappointed (Calif)  See all my reviews >

Don't waste your time with this one. Almost every piece was broken and the company will not replace. Unless you like running back and forth to the store in an effort to try to piece a bookcase together, skip this one!

Delivered damaged September 25, 2008 Reviewer:  DRL (Skokie, IL)  See all my reviews >

Thankfully the item was inexpensive. It came damaged in the box and my husband had to glue it in numerous places. Overall the quality is mediocre. It was easy to put together. Nice color. By the time we vacuumed all the broken peanuts up and removed the pieces from the box, we were frustrated and just gave up and decided to keep it despite it being chipped and cracked. It is not easy to return something like this that comes damaged. It is upsetting that it is more work to return something like this if it comes damaged, so we just decided to keep it. Bad experience overall.

Great for the price!! September 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Jessica See all my reviews >

I bought the 5 shelf bookcase and it is such a nice addition to our home office. It did take around 3 hours to put together. It wasn't difficult, just time consuming. It looks much nicer than the price would indicate and gives me so much space for my many books! We like it so much and have received so many compliments that we're planning on buying the smaller bookcases to go with it!

Cheap but effective September 13, 2008 Reviewer:  Austin K. (VA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I needed a place to stash my book collection that built up since college. I got this one since the finish matched my other furniture. Putting it together wasn't too difficult. Most of the wood feels pretty sturdy. The included hardware is almost entirely plastic, but it seems to do the trick. My only complaint is that the "wood" that backs the bookshelf is actually two pieces of heavy-duty cardboard. Once you begin filling this thing up with books, it's not noticeable, but still I think I would have rather seen some real wood. Also originally, I was going to leave the cardboard off so I could have the exposed wall and make the piece feel more open. Not really an option, because that backing keeps the bookcase sturdy.

Overall, not a bad piece for what I paid.
