Perfect for moving out of a dorm!

We used Space Bags to move our son out of his dorm room. They were perfect for compressing his pillows, blanket, sheets and winter clothes. We used the XL size that we bought in the store for all his bedding and it fit into one bag. The dorm lent us a small vacuum cleaner and the hose fit without a problem. It was so nice to have them compress down - we could fit everything in the back of the car and still see out the back window! I can't say how long the compression would last because we took everything out when we got home, but it was fine for the 8 hour drive.

I bought these to store clothes that are out of season and extra comforters. It works great for things that are big and fluffy, such as comforters; however the pictures are misleading when it comes to other clothes. When I placed jeans, and thin shirts in the bag it didn't shrink down that much. Despite the fact they didn't save much room with clothing, the bags do keep items compressed which makes them easier to store and free from dust and mildew. I would buy them again, but not to save room, to keep my clothes safe from the elements while in storage.

I bought them yesterday and they worked like a dream. I had one slowly fill back up with air and quickly realized it had a little kink where it zips to seal the bag. I opened it and resealed it. It has been perfect ever since. I stuffed them full and nothing ripped. I will definitely be buying more and encouraged all my friends to, as well.

I was so excited to get these but the day I did was probably the most stressful day of my life and I wasted most of the money I spent. I bought 6 bags and 3 tore leaving me with only 3. The 3 that I think work I put in the basement and haven't checked to see if they are still vaccum sealed because I'm still so dang pissed. I bought 2 of the large cubes and just opening one after taking it out of the box, the little zipper thing tore the bag...that was probably the thing I was mostly mad about! Don't buy!

I have a ton of blankets and bedding I wanted to condense, so I bought the XL bags that came in the 2 pack (couldn't find those online to review). A lot fit in them, but the picture is deceiving! Yes it would get that flat if you only have a thin layer of clothing or bedding in there, but not if you put as much in it as you can fit without overfilling per the directions. Also, hose on my dyson vacuum did not fit over the valve to suck out the air. It did suck out the air, only it was slow and not sealed. It didn't leak air but I just threw them under the bed and haven't looked since so maybe they do? Overall, it did the job, just not as good as you would expect from the pictures and those commercials!

I just dug out a storage room with three spacebags that have been in there 7 years full of coats and sweaters and a down comforter and all of them were still well shrunk, though not quite as squished as before. Two of them I reshrunk and one seems not to work any more. I know you gotta make sure the seal is fully closed or no matter how many times you vacuum it out, it's not gonna work. The company should post the manual online, but I can't find it there. Still, I'd recommend them for longterm storage of clothes, blankets and such that you need to keep.

I'd spend double for a useful version of these. Save your money. The vaccum does not hold more than a few days, the bags rip, they are horrible.

Space bags have worked awesome from me! I used them in my linen closet and it opened shelf and a half. Plus, I feel good knowing how safe and clean they are.

We are in the process of moving 350 miles away and into a MUCH smaller home, so I needed to reduce my storage space for the 35+ quilts and blankets (not to mention sheet sets) that I have. I was unsure about these bags after reading the other reviews, so I only purchased one box. I got home, used the the bags in the box, and ran right back to the store and purchased 6 more boxes!! I love them!! They worked beautifully and stayed condensed. I had no problem with them whatsoever. I plan to get more for the sweaters and things I still need to pack... I wouldn't hesitate to get them again!

If you want to vacuum two items then your stuff will come out flat. Lay the bag flat and put everything in the bag flat, the opening of the bag should be horizontal not vertical. Sorry Target, I found these the generic brand for cheaper at the Christmas tree shop and the vacuum seal in the middle is a better quality but the seal on the end of the bag isn't as great. Don't go crazy and try to stick everything in the bags, fill to the fill line not over it.
