Nice Avent alternative

I too purchased these bottles to replace some older Avent bottles that were supposed to contain BPA (they now say Avent bottles do not contain BPA). I like the bottles fine. They are easy to clean, but there are a lot of pieces to clean. I like to rinse them immediately after use with hot water to make cleaning up before bed even easier. If the nipples colapse, you are overtightening the nipple ring. This closes the small groves in the vent that allow air into the bottle as baby drinks.

LOVE my born free bottles! When I learned about the whole "BPA" thing, I did a ton of research, and decided that switching from my Avent bottles to Born Free was the choice for me.
Even if the BPA issue weren't there, I'd want to use these bottles--unlike my Avent bottles, these don't LEAK all the time! And since we have to use formula, a leak-free bottle is especially important when shaking/mixing.
The only thing I don't like about them is that there are a lot of parts to clean and put together (there's an inner valve system, or something, which is two pieces and go under the nipple. So 5 pieces total to wash, other than the bottle itself.) But, since I gotta use the bottle, I suck it up and deal with it. :)
As far as the nipples go, I've had them collapse on me, but that just tells me my daughter's ready for the next level. So we switch, and no problem at all. I think every bottle I've used in the past has had the same issue, so I don't see it as a negative. Baby just wants more food!
All in all, great bottles!

BornFree Nipple collapse

I love the concept behind BornFree baby products. I tried so many brands before I found BornFree. However, the design of their nipple is very disappointed. First, the shape is not very orthodontic. Second, the silicon is somehow too "thin" and collapse easily. When my baby is hungry and sucking continuously, then within few seconds, the nipple collapse and formula would not come out. Its very frustrating feeding a hungry baby with this nipple.
