These variable stage nipples are frustrating because my son started trying to hold the bottle when he was 4 old. It's very hard to see which stage the nipple is on without taking it out of his mouth. Meanwhile, milk is either pouring down his neck or he is frustrated if it's not coming fast enough. It's too hard to see which stage it's on and you have to keep looking at it all the time. I really like the regular stage Born Free nipples and bottles though! But I wouldn't buy this!

These nipples are a must if you are using a thicker formula (such as Similac Sensitive Formula RS, which has Rice Starch) or if you're putting cereal in your baby's bottle at night (which we did with our son when he was 4 months old). I have now phased out all of the stage 1 nipples that came with the bottles, the stage 2 nipples I purchased & instead of wasting money on the stage 3, I just went to these. Great!
