My twins are 4 1/2 and living at a lake, them knowing to swim is an imperative. I bought these with the hopes that they would help them become more confident so my husband and I could teach them to swim this summer. In just one week at an hour a day they are already stretching out in the water and swimming back and forth to us! We have not started to remove the pads yet...but, so far, I am very pleased with this purchase. The confidence they have gained is what is needed to be successful in the water!
I did take away one star for the crotch strap. Both of my girls were irritated by the thing and I had to remove it (easy to do, it is held on with an adjustable velcro strap). Removing it does not affect the performance of the product at all and they are more comfortable without it rubbing between their legs.
Great product.

We've been using these for 5 kids from age 2 through 6 and they are wonderful. The kid's arms are free to swim and play as if they had nothing on and they are extremely light weight. We are ordering another one now.

I bought this product for my son. He is 2 1/2 years old. I only used the product once. We put this product on my son correctly. We put him in the pool.. the product says that it is for beginners thru experts. This product nearly made my son drown. It doesn't keep the kids a float as promised and by the picture they show. Luckily I was right there with my son to get him before he fully submerged under the water. It's says that it allows your children to swim freely without any difficulties. I have called the manufacturer and am making a big giant complaint. I am waiting on a phone call from them any minute. If you love your children, don't put them in this product. It's not safe at all. I hope no one has had to experience what I experienced on Memorial Day. Do yourself a favor and skip this product all together.

Both of my children used these floatation devices last year. I could relax in the pool, knowing that these flotation devices would keep both of my children safe if I turned my back for a moment (an easy thing to do watching two children these ages!). It took a few days for my younger child to get balanced in the water, but then she became very confident. It was also great for my older child, who needed the flotation at the beginning of the summer. We kept taking the pads out, however, and by the end of summer, he was practically swimming on his own.
I highly recommend these!

We purchased this item after my 21 month old grew out of the smaller version - he has a long torso and is 3' tall. This one does have much more floatation, so we already pulled some out. This is not meant to be a life jacket, but a swim aid. It gives them just enough floatation that they can start to learn how to swim. As they get better, you remove some of the floatation.

My 2 year old who was afraid of water started not only to swim by himself, but loves being in the water now. we used this product for a couple of months only, and then he was able to swim on his own without any pressure....
Highly recommend it!!1

This is great!!! The 1st time I put it on my almost 2 1/2 year old she started swimming & loved it!!! It gives her enough support, gets her in the right position for swimming & gives her confidence in the pool. The only complaint I have is that the straps do not adjust much since they are velcro. My daughter falls well in the weight limit for a small, but is very tall, so I'll probably be buying a medium very soon.
