Description

    This Touchless Trashcan NX model specially designed for 13 gallon tall kitchen size trash bags. This 2nd generation automatic trash can has improved sensor sensitivity to prevent accidental openings, and superior lid opening mechanism for longer lasting, more durable operations.
    As your hand or debris enter the zone 6 inches from the infrared sensor on top of the trash can, the lid will automatically open. The lid will remain open if debris or hand is within the 6 inch range of the infrared sensor. 3 seconds after your hand moves away from the lid it closes automatically. At the top front of the lid there are open and close buttons for manual operation, and there is a on/off power switch at the back of the trash can.

We have had a 40 quart (11 gallon) kitchen trash can that was too small, so we ordered this 13 gallon unit (as advertised) to replace it. Upon arrival, it didn't seem any bigger than our current one, and the outer package states its capacity is 42 quarts! That is about 11.5 gallons.

I bought 2 of them: 1 for regular waste, the other one for recycling items. They are really 12 gallon capacity not 13 as indicated here, but the 13G bag fits perfectly and holds lots of waste. The touchless lids work great. They open very quickly and the mechanism is very smooth. It requires 4 D batteries, not provided with item which as per instructions should last for about 10,000 open-close operations.
Great Product with Really Good Quality! Love it! Price is great as well.

The trash can works great. I like the way the inside ring holds the trash bag seamlessly with no white plastic sticking out at the edges. You place the bag inside and use the ring holder and fasten the ring down over the edges of the bag to hold it in place and simply fold the excess edges over the ring inside the bin. Very quick and no mess getting trash bags out of the can.

You can also make the bin lid stay open using the open button for longer jobs or staying within the sensor range. For everyday use the 3 seconds opening time is ample.

I checked around for a stainless steel step-on trash can at local stores. Target.com's price is half of what's out there and comes with the sensor lid feature. It is a great deal. Get it while it lasts.

This is a larger trash can than my old Simplehuman 40 liter can. I can put a 13 gallon size trash bag in it without problem. The best part is that it is completely handsfree operation. No more touching the dirty lid. I like it very much.

I have had mine for about a year and just had to replace the batteries. When I am not at home I find myself standing in front of other trash cans waiting for them to open until I realize it's not my automatic can. It looks nice, the trash bags are fully contained inside the unit so they aren't hanging over the outside like other trash cans and it's so nice when your hands are full of trash or are wet or dirty that you don't have to touch it to open the lid. This a great price for a stainless steel trash can with sensor lid. It costs a lot more for one that does not have the feature at the big box stores.

I was a little skeptical on how fast/convenient this would be because it's not mechanical. But it turned out to be quite responsive. It does keep hands clean and odor inside, and the stainless steel finish looks nice.
Get one and try it! You will love it.

We can't imagine living without this trash can after using it for 6 month. It makes life so much more convenient. We don't need to touch the lid or step on the foot pedal any more. It will open automatically after you hold the trash near its lid. The sensor is very smart that it would remain open if you are cleaning plates or peeling fruits. It closes in 4 seconds later after you walk away. We love it!

Kind of strange to have your trash can be a conversation piece, but this thing works like a charm, contains odors, and is very sleek and stylish. I've been looking for the right kitchen can for a long time, have never found one I wanted under [..] till now. I'd buy again!

Well worth the money if not for the convenience of having a trash can open itself when your hands are full - but also was so much fun during the gethering with friends and relatives - should have had a camera on it.

It is easier to use than foot pedal models. Seal completely eliminates odors and pet invasion issues. I was pleasantly surprised how well it works. Looks nice too. Never thought a trash can could be a good gift idea."

I bought this trash can around a year ago and it is working great! I simply love the sleek design and the functionality of it. It does all the work for my use in the kitchen without needing to touch the trash can at all. It is very easy to clean since the top is removeable. Great value for the money and I would recommend this to anybody looking for a good helper in the kitchen.
