Water tastes like plastic

For weeks, I have been looking for a non-plastic sippy for my 18 month old. I've tried a handful of other brands, but none meet all of my needs (the Foogoo included, unfortunately).
The pros of this cup:
* Stainless steel body.
* Comes with handles.
* Is insulated (great for milk).
* It really doesn't leak or drip.
The cons of this cup:
* It is a little heavy for my toddler, although not unmanageable.
* The sippy valve has 4 separate parts that must be washed.
* The sippy spout is still plastic (although I've read it's BPA-free).
* When I drink from this cup, the water tastes like plastic. I've read the Foogoo spout does not contain BPA, but I still worry when it alters the taste of the water so significantly...especially when the water is only passing through the spout, not sitting directly in contact with the plastic.
So, I feel better using this cup than the pastic sippies, but will continue my search for other alternatives.

This cup is cute and I am very glad that it is BPA free. However, it does leak if it's not screwed together just right.

We have not had any issues with this cup. My daughter is 19 months and just loves it. The only thing that has leaked out of it was when it had some Sprite in it and she shook it up and dropped it, yes that leaked but nothing else has! She truly loves this cup and gets excited every time she sees me get it out for her!

While I don't mind that there are numerous pieces to snap together, I do mind that if put together properly, at BEST, it leaks a bit. If you don't put it together JUST RIGHT, it leaks like a sieve. Great idea, not worth the high price. (I had thought with the thermos name I couldn't go wrong!) This sippy sits in the drawer, unused, and I can't bear to throw it away as I spent few dollars on it!

Keeps Cool, Leaks Sometimes

I have 2 of these cups for my one year old. There are a total of 4 pieces in the lid/valve assembly. It is cumbersome to clean and assemble. If you don't do it perfectly, it leaks every time. However, true to the advertisement, the cup keeps beverages cool for quite some time (so long as the liquid doesn't leak everywhere). P.S. I don't understand why sippy cups have handles when regular bottles do not. I thought the point of a sippy cup was to transition your baby to a regular cup? Interesting.

My daughter wouldn't take to the bottle, but she loved this sippy cup. It does leak a bit, but not enough to be bothered by it. I also love how I don't have to worry about the water getting warm when we are at the park, etc..

We bought almost every cup out there searching for a good leak proof BPA free cup for our twins and finally found these. They are a little heavy, but the girls manage them fine. They do not leak if closed properly, mine don't leak, even when my other kids screw the lids on. The valves come out and come apart for easy cleaning. Overall we ended up buying more of these, and don't use the others at all.

Bought a couple of these for my twin boys... I was very happy to find "safe" sippy cups. But after spending nearly $30 on 2 cups, they both leaked like crazy! I exchanged them at Target for 2 new ones, hoping I had defective ones the first time. Nope- the new ones were leakers, too. Too bad- I'm going to try the Safe Sippy or Klean Kanteen next.

I bought 2 of these for my 18 month old twins. They are Great! They have already been dropped a couple of times and still look good. They keep their drinks cold for hours. Yesterday we went to the park, I put water with ice cubes in their cups and 3 hrs later there were still ice cubes in their cups! They do leak a little bit when left laying on the floor. The design is great! Though there are 3 parts to the lid, it's easy to assemble...I do it twice everyday! And when you take out every part, you know that it's really getting clean. Great product and though it's a little pricey, it's the best price I've seen for stainless steel sippies!

I like the fact that it does keep the milk cold compared to regular cups. The only two things I did not like was that it was a bit too heavy for my one year old to hold and it had 4 parts to the lid that you have to wash and put together. But other than that It's a good design. Maybe when my daughter gets older it might work better.
