This product works very well. It burns for about 2.5 hours and gives off pretty good heat. It has a little crackle to it making it believable as a fire, and it has no smell.

This product is great! The crackling sound and real flame definitely makes for a cozy fire feel and atmosphere. And it does give off a nice amount of heat. No fuss or mess like with a real wood fireplace. There was no odor. I wish I had found it a long time ago. And I definitely recommend this product!

I have used this product for over 3 years now, even before it was available at Target. It is Excellent. No odor and it gives the crackle and popping just like you were burning wood in a real fire place. For those that experience odor at the end of your can, it is usually because it is old. It does have a shelf life. If you have problems tell the company. They have excellent customer service.

I have been using this product for approximately 2 years and have never detected an odor while it is burning. Only when I have smelled the can before using it. Also, it does warm my living room which is an extra bonus.

Both folks who've said there's an odor but not that much are correct. I've found if I keep a dozen cans over the Summer when I finally do use those can in Nov. the last 10 minutes emit a propane-like odor.
I've never use this particular brand but I understand they're all pretty much the same stuff. I still believe they're far too expensive for the two hours + flame you get but that's about the going rate even at QVC. I've started to use regular sterno burners (the type used for food warming now.) And while the flame isn't as big it's still kind of pretty. You can put the sterno can on top of an empty old saved can used from the more expensive ones.
Either way, after all the years I've used them I wouldn't give my ventless, safe fireplace up for anything now. No muss, no fuss with the charm of a fire.

Target's price is better than buying Real Flame from the manufacturer. I have had this type of firplace for 13 years and always look forward to the first cold night to use it. You can't beat it with a stick of firewood.

The flame from this product is certainly neat; however, while it is said to be odorless it actually isn't. While lit it has an odor similar to that of a regular propane fireplace and after it has been put out the smell is anything but pleasant. Otherwise a great product.

I have tried 2 other brands,SJ and CF and I find this one (Real Flame) burns pretty much all the way down to the bottom of the can. The other two brands don't , they always have unburnt gel in the bottom. Also, I find Realflame gel burns longest of all of them. The least smell of any gel fuel out there. Highly recommend this brand. Think of 30 more mins of fire for your buck and no waste left in can, like the other brands.

I have never had a problem with any odor with this product. I've been using it since I ordered my fireplace last winter. I have one in my bedroom and one in my living room. They are so beautiful and cozy. To the people who smelled the odor, make sure you take the label off before you light it. That could be a reason as well.
