I did not drill holes in my wall, the pressure pads work great-very secure. It is one-hand operational with ease. We have had it for a few weeks now, and neither my 18 month old triplets nor active 5 year old has budged it. You get used to stepping over the lower bar. This gate as well as the flexi-gate we ordered has been a breeze and since they do not have horizontal bars, my kids can't climb over it.

This has been a frustrating experience. I ordered one gate which was shipped with a cracked piece of plastic which caused the gate to be totally unusable. I returned the gate, ordered another one hoping that it was just a fluke and BAM, another gate with another piece of cracked plastic which caused the gate not to close. Do not buy this item!
