This is a great value. The finish and materials are very nice and sturdy. It is very heavy, not flimsy at all. It looks great! The only negative is that it took almost 3 hours to assemble the hutch. It comes all in pieces with a ton of nuts and bolts. The directions are very nicley outlined, so it is very simple, just time consuming. The desk took no time at all, all you have to do is put the legs on. Both products came packaged very well. I would highly recommend this product.

I ordered both pieces, the desk and the hutch to use as a laptop desk. I absolutely love it! The desk was a breeze to put together and, due to its slim design, fits perfectly in my small living room. Since I have a laptop, I just use the keyboard drawer to store the paperwork from my latest school projects.
Okay, the hutch...it takes patience and time to put together. It comes in a ton of pieces with a lot of hardware, even the baskets have to be "built." However, the directions are easy to follow, all parts are conveniently labeled and the hardware is seperated in steps to make assembly easier. Once you finish, the hutch is beautiful and adds so much character to the desk.
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who needs organization and style in a small package!

IT IS AN AMAZING DESK AND I LOVE THE HUTCH. THE HUTCH IS A GREAT PIECE FOR A PERSON WHO LIKES ORGANIZATION IN HIS OR HER OFFICE. THEREFORE THIS PIECE IS FUNCTIONAL AS WELL AS BEING VERY ATTRACTIVE ESPECIALLY IN A HOME OFFICE. IT DOES TAKE A LITTLE TIME TO PUT THE HUTCH TOGETHER BUT THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE EXCELLENT. THE PACKAGING FOR THE ALL THE HARDWARE WAS UNIQUE...EVERYTHING LABELED AND PUT IN BLISTER PACKING SO YOU KNEW JUST WHAT WENT WHERE....THE MONEY YOU SAVE AND THE QUALITY YOU GET IS THE WORTH THE TIME TO PUT IT TOGETHER TO HAVE DESK LIKE THIS.

The desk and hutch are beautiful. The instructions for assembling were easy, but the hutch took ages because there are so many small pieces of hardware. It must have taken me almost 3 hours, lol. In the end, it was well worth it though. It is very sturdy and looks classy.

I recently bought the South Hampton desk. It was easy to assemble (just add the legs and drawer pull)and has the elegant look and construction of furniture that is far more expensive in other stores. This is a real bargain!

Awesome desk...easy to assemble...solid...and everyone thinks it is from an upscale retailer. No need to second guess your decision on this desk. I put it together myself and we have it in the family room as a computer desk and it holds everything on top that a desk needs included a lamp. Sooo....just order it...and enjoy!

the desk/hutch combo are sturdy and were a breeze to put together. the hardware is shrink wrapped on cardboard, laid out by step, and matches the instructions (though I have put together so much furniture, it wasn't necessary) speeding things up. there were even spare hardware pieces; something you rarely see any more! no damage to anything and it all looks great.

First, it arrived with a big ding in the back of it. It's not enough to go through the hassle of returning it, and we didn't find it until the hutch was put together. That took a solid 2 hours, and it's a pain. Second, it's smaller than I expected. Typical junky furniture made in China. A desk drawer would have been better than the pull out keyboard holder. Some people here have vastly overrated this item. You get what you pay for!

I've had this desk for a couple of months now and I LOVE it! It was delivered quickly, assembled easily and looks even cuter in person. My husband and I use it as a laptop desk and it works perfectly for our intended usage. I would definitely recommend this desk for anyone that wants to use it for light duty like we do. The baskets are a bit odd as I've never had to assemble baskets before but they went together well and look nice.
