Spend ten dollars more on the bissel and save yourself! January 7, 2009 Reviewer:  Gal Friday "freebird" (Birmingham, Mi)  See all my reviews >

I did not experience streaking or puddling. I experienced the sheer stupidity of the forward motion making the steam (which is weak) spurt, and nothing on the back motion, which means you have to go over a spot 4 times as opposed to two with H2O or Bissel, the cords on all of these steam mops are short, H20 is the shortest, but this one is so aggravating! It's always getting in the way! All steam mops do not stand up well on their own, be careful they break. Forget about the pad picking up dirt, more like pushing it around, you pick up almost 10 times more dirt with the Bissel or the H2O (I use both daily.)
The most disappointing is the steam power, it's pathetic. Spend ten more dollars and get the Bissel. You will have a cleaner floor.

The Shark vs. the H20 Steam Cleaner June 5, 2009 Reviewer:  T. Perry "LoveMyKids" Real Name (D.C.)  See all my reviews >

My neighbor had the H20, and offered to let me use it. I absolutely loved it. It glided over the floors so easily. But then I was out, and I saw the Shark. I figured it would be just as good. Well, it does clean, but it doesn't glide like the H20. Plus, instead of an on/off switch, it operates by the pushing of the handle as you mop. That feature is really tiring on your arms.

Shark Steam Mop vs. H20 Steam Mop December 2, 2008 Reviewer:  Proud Momma & Wifey "Beth" (Columbia, MO)  See all my reviews >

I have recently purchased and used both the Shark Steam Mop and the H20 Steam Mop so I feel I can provide good comparison feedback.

Shark -
Pros: light, easy to push, cord is a decent length

Cons: runs out of water too quickly, rectangle head does not maneuver easily around the toilet or in small spaces (which we often have in bathrooms)

H20 -
Pros: provides lots of steam for powerful cleaning, triangle shape is good for corners and around sink bases and toilets

Cons: short cord, does NOT push as easily as shown on TV (liars!!)

I'm returning both needless to say.......

Works great when it works. March 30, 2009 Reviewer:  Clean Freak See all my reviews >

I have owned two of these mops. I love how well they clean but my first mop only worked for 3 months. The company will fix it but the cost of shipping and the wait time were not worth it so I purchased another instead. This second mop worked for 1 year and 2 months. Both mops just stopped working in the middle of cleaning. I am going to purchase the new Shark Pro model with the carpet glider. If I could find another brand with a carpet glider I would purchase something else but have decided to give Shark one more chance. Works great when it works but buyer beware.

Don't listen to the naysayers! February 26, 2009 Reviewer:  B. C. Barker "Cameron" Real Name (Dallas, TX)  See all my reviews >

After reading all the reviews on here I decided to borrow one from my friend before buying since there were so many negative comments.I have tile floors that take HOURS to get clean the regular way. I also have wood floors. Using my friend's Shark Steam Mop....WHOA! Those tile floors were clean in nothing flat. Cleaner than I can ever remember them looking after I did it the old way. Didn't even have to set up barriers to keep people out of the tiled areas because it dries so fast. Worked equally great on the wood floors too. I was sold on it! Anything that saves me hours of cleaning is good in my book! No overpowering scents, no chemicals. I understand why people were talking about the cord but it actually is a very minor thing. I ended up buying the deluxe one, you can see my review on that under that model. But don't take my word for it, go borrow one from someone you know that has one or buy it and give it a try, you can always take it back if you're unsatisfied!

Never Again February 19, 2009 Reviewer:  Jennifer (New Jersey)  See all my reviews >

I saw this on TV and had to have it. I even asked for it for Christmas. I started using it thinking it was alittle hard to push and keep the steam coming out but I used it for a year. EXACTLY one year and it's broke. When you push the handle water squirts out. It's [.......]to send it back for them to look at it, they don't tell you how much it will cost for them to fix it or what happens if it can't be fixed. Now I'm looking for a new brand steam mop. I'm very disappointed.

Great Idea, Fair Execution February 18, 2009 Reviewer:  spatrickgreene "spatrickgreene" (Palm Springs, CA)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this mop for my travertine floors that cannot have any chemicals on them. My mother in law said it works like a dream and so did my aunt. I then read the reviews here which were completely condratictory to their experiences. I got it home yesterday and have to say that while it does heat up fast and seems to clean a not-super-dirty floor, it does leave streaks. I would suggest it more for floors that don't have a true "shine" to them. My travertine is more of a dull finish so the streaks aren't so bad. Overall, I think it'll be a good alternative to mopping with a mop and bucket of hot water.

What a waste of money February 11, 2009 Reviewer:  V. Coalson Real Name (California)  See all my reviews >

I bought this yesterday at Target. Could hardly wait to use it on my linoleum floors. I have a Saint Bernard, so I need to clean the floors frequently. What a waste of time. Was very hard to push. I couldn't see that it was working at all. Kept trying. After 10 minutes of pushing back and forth, I quit and got out my old Swifter cleaner. A breeze to use, and it actually cleaned. Don't buy a Shark Steam Mop!

don't do it February 9, 2009 Reviewer:  mom of 4 "Lindsey M" (El Mirage, AZ, USA)  See all my reviews >

when i saw the commercials for this product i just had to have one. BIG MISTAKE AND WASTE OF MONEY it so so ridiculously hard to push and after just cleaning the kitchen i am so tired, i am only 23 so it should not make me tired after 1 room. you have to pump that stupid handle so much to make the steam come out. I could go on and on about how much i hate this thing but if it tells you anything until i got a new one i cleaned my floor with cleaner and paper towels on my hands and knees, it was easier and less tiring than using this mop

Really happy with this steamer January 14, 2009 Reviewer:  Dog Mom "Heather P" (Lakeland, Florida United States)  See all my reviews >

I received this steam mop as I Christmas gift this year. I had considered several times buying one for myself, but just never did. I have used it several times and am very happy with it. I have white tile floors in my kitchen and they get dirty fast. I have 2 dogs and dirty paw prints and water from the water bowl is a constant cleaning issue.

I vacuum my floors and then get out my steam mop and my kitchen floor is clean in less than 15 minutes and it is dry in 5 minutes. Clean and no chemical smell. I really like that.

It is easy to use and maintain. It works really great at getting up hairspray residue from the bathroom floor too!!

It really cleans the floor easily and quickly. No water puddles or streaking either.
