Excellent - but shipping and foam a little dissappointing February 26, 2008 Reviewer:  Peggy (Gulf Breeze FL)  See all my reviews >

The chairs are incredibly nice and were very easy to put together. Since I am using mine inside, I intend to oil them or spray a light varnish to give them a polished look. I ordered them when the free shipping [...]. Not having to cart these huge boxes home was simply lovely --and they would never have fit in my SUV. [...]

Please note that I think I got lucky --the boxes were incredibily damaged and the hardware was rolling around all over the place. I very carefully opened and peeled the hardware off all kinds of tape and picked it out of crevices. Out of the three pieces I ordered (two chairs and ottoman), I only lost three washers --which were very easy to replace, so no big deal. But it could easily have been disastrous. Just as a bit of a test, I tried to contact the company to get a hardware pack shipped and it REALLY doesn't look good. If I get them, I will update this review --but I don't expect to get them at all.

The hardware is not very special --I think we could have found every piece we needed at our local hardware store, but it would have been very inconvenient.

Although the fabric is nice, I expect to have to replace the foam soon... but we shall see.

Pretty, but lots of work to maintain September 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Busy Mom "Jill S" (Anaheim Hills, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this set (2 club chairs, loveseat, 2 ottomans & table) at three different local Target stores in May. No Southern California Target had the full set, only pieces. We had to exchange one chair because the arm was broken when we opened the inadequate box. The set has been outside for 4 months and the sun damage is tremendous already. It is placed under a patio cover and shaded most of the day. We are in the process of staining/sealing the wood, and the cushions are VERY faded. The fabric may need to be replaced next year. I have received many complements on the look of the set from guests. The look is beautiful and the price affordable, but the upkeep is more than I anticipated.

Club Chair Arms were broked January 26, 2009 Reviewer:  JoJo See all my reviews >

I knew this was a risk when I saw the reviews, however, purchased the items anyway. Club chairs did come with broken arms, however, Target.com agreed to send new chairs out as soon as possible.

Don't Buy It!!!!!! April 25, 2009 Reviewer:  Pittsburgh (Pittsburgh)  See all my reviews >

I bought 9 pieces of this set, fabric is faded, wood is broken and cracked and it is under cover on my patio. Very very poor quality especially for something with the Smith and Hawkin name on it. Target should be ashamed to sell this set based on all the negative reviews from purchasers, would never by furniture from Target again

Disappointed, you will regret buying!!! September 16, 2008 Reviewer:  Jack "Jack C" (Exton PA)  See all my reviews >

Looks great, thought we were buying from reputable manufacturer. Reality is we purchased 11 pieces of this line ($1500) and 50% of pieces have cracked and cushions completely fade within weeks. Set has not made it 1 season. Target customer service & manufacturer have not stood behind product. Two recommendations, pick another line and purchase somewhere else!!

I love love love these chairs ... May 13, 2009 Reviewer:  D. Eatmon "Lori" Real Name (Florida)  See all my reviews >

Bought 2 of these chairs to go with the loveseat I purchased over a yesr ago. They arrived EARLY, in perfect condition and were easy to put together. They look fantastic and are super comfy. Not sure what everyone else is complaining about.

Poor Quality Fabric August 23, 2008 Reviewer:  Melissa R (Charlottesville, VA)  See all my reviews >

We purchased the dining set, 2 loveseats, 2 club chairs, and an end table from this collection 2 months ago. They are on our deck, which admittedly gets full sun most of the day. We do have a retractable awning which we keep out much of the time. The wood has held up very well (although I do recommend using teak oil on it regularly), but the fabric is horribly faded. And it does not fade consistently. Some of the pillows have turned a bright green, and others gray. It looks awful. At this point, I don't feel like dealing with the hassle of returning it, so I will probably just recover the cushions with a better fabric next summer. I would recommend this furniture for a shaded area, but definitely NOT for a sunny area. What is most shocking to me is that it faded within 3-4 weeks of getting it. A year or two, and I would not be shocked, but to me, this is not "outdoor furniture."

I would waterproof it! July 21, 2008 Reviewer:  Bungalow (Tampa/St Pete FL)  See all my reviews >

I saw this wood line on clearance earlier this month. Immediately bought the chaise lounge 50% off(only one left) and two club chairs 75% off(the last two) in the store. I later went to another Target in my area and found the bar and the bar stools and the bar umbrella at 75% off. I couldn't pass them up. I also got two dining chairs for 75% off. I really like the look of the collection. I would suggest using some vented waterproof furniture covers for them when not being used. I did since I have them on an uncovered patio in Florida. I thought about using the teak oil as recommended. Instead, I applied Cabot Australian Timber Oil. The color I chose is called Jarrah Brown. It is a waterproofer, a stain and also has teak oil in it. Unfortunately, it is very humid in Florida in July. Because of the humidity, I put the finish on in my enclosed porch with the a/c on and the ceiling fan to help the pieces dry. Be patient when using this product since it takes a few days for it to dry in high humidity(even inside). So far, I've only put the finish on the chaise and the two lounge chairs. They now look like something purchased a much more expensive store. I would suugest a very light sanding before applying this finish. They are now waterproof and have a slightly darker color, the wood grain is visible and there is a slight sheen. I will be putting them on the patio tomorrow. Then it will be time to put the finish on the bar and the bar stools and the chairs. It is a bit of a project but they look absolutely beautiful and I feel more at ease knowing they are protected from the high humidity. I love the look of the cushions too. Especially the striped cushions. This set looks great with your bungalow.

Worth it if you buy on clearance in store June 8, 2008 Reviewer:  A. Lennon "Researcher" Real Name (Magnolia, DE USA)  See all my reviews >

We bought the whole set (loveseat, chairs, tables) for our back patio after wasting money last year on [another retailer's] set. We got a great deal in the store, half the price that is online. It was super easy to put together and pretty. It's comfortable, but the chairs could use a back cushion. The wood stain is matte and looks poorly done up close. I am trying to find out what type of wood it is so that we can treat it correctly. It was the best deal I've found on a nice wooden set.

Prepare to maintain November 2, 2009 Reviewer:  Vince See all my reviews >

Purchased this set about 1 year ago and immediately the fabric on the cushions that were in sunslight started to fade, 3 months later they are a completely different color and look 5 years old. I've had to strip the wood, restain and revarnish it twice and am looking for new cushions. The Wicker sofa and motion chair have fared better than the wood and i'd go with that set instead. If you purchase this set make sure it will stay out of the sunlight. also when you remove the cushion from inside the cover it is very fragile and will tear. value is good but i'd look for sunbrella cushions that fit properly.
