After using it for two weeks it quit. I got more channels with old rabbit ears.

doesn't work and ruined my TV April 20, 2009 Reviewer:  Francis (Madison, WI United States)  See all my reviews >

This Antenna never worked, and yesterday it shorted and blew up my TV. SO I had to buy a new TV and antenna. If I could give this product a -0 rating I would.

It works...sorta February 21, 2009 Reviewer:  the bachelor (Crystal, MN, USA)  See all my reviews >

I live right outside the metro area of the Twin Cities in MN. I get 3 HD channels clearing with the 4th coming in intermittently. I am going to go back to the store and try a different antenna to see if it will do the trick to get more channels.

Double the reception January 3, 2009 Reviewer:  N. D. Simmula Real Name (Torrance, CA, USA)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this antenna last night, after my father said it worked well for him. Using an unpowered antenna, most channels had 2-3 out of 10 bars reception according to the signal strength indicator on my tv. After we plugged this GE HDTV antenna in, most channels increased to 6-8 out of 10.
We live in a fairly dense neighborhood south of Los Angeles, about 30 miles from the broadcast towers. It helped me to set the antenna exactly as shown in the product picture (make it a triangle), then I extended the monopole at a 45 degree angle out of the back space.
The blue light is really annoying, but as others mentioned, just put some duct tape over it.

Good unit September 27, 2008 Reviewer:  Christopher Alexander Real Name (Lutz, FL)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this with the Venture DTV box listed on this site. It brought in 18 stations with 7 unviewable. The same setup connected to a DirectTV TR-40a DTV converter box brought in 28 stations with only 2 unviewable. Impressive considering I live 20-25 Miles from the nearest TV tower.

I did notice that it must be oriented towards the the tower and near a window to work well. [...]

Did not work for me September 13, 2008 Reviewer:  Steven G. Croxton Real Name (Springfield, MO)  See all my reviews >

I live within about 25 miles of all the transmitters for the major TV stations in Springfield, MO. The 20+ year-old rabbit ears I bought at Radio Shack work just as well (or bad). I'll be returning it and wait out my DirecTV commitment to expire in November so I can switch to Dish Network.

Not bad, but inferior to lower-cost alternatives July 26, 2008 Reviewer:  J. Johnston Real Name See all my reviews >

I live in a suburban area less than a mile from an airport, which has created challenges receiving a constant signal from some lower-power stations. I've experimented with a variety of antennas, including a Phillips amplified antenna, an [electronics store] amplified antenna, and the RCA Basic ANT111.

This antenna wasn't bad; it had adequate signal strength with most of my channels. However, it failed to outperform the $10 ANT111 and even failed to get one channel that the ANT111 got. Based on other feedback, I was hopeful this would be the answer for my antenna woes, but it was not to be.

The principal advantage of this antenna is that, as of now, it is in Target stores (no shipping costs if it doesn't work and you return it) so it is a reasonable risk for those seeking off-air signals.

Got more channels with a broken antenna April 7, 2009 Reviewer:  bumrocky "C Burke" (Charleston, SC)  See all my reviews >

My daughter broke the rabbit ears I was using. I could still get several channels, but I was unable to get CBS or PBS. I plugged this in, and the only channel I could get was NBC. All the others were blank. I was getting more with a broken antenna, than this new one.

DOES NOT WORK! February 27, 2009 Reviewer:  Charu Stokes Real Name See all my reviews >

I repeat it does not work. Not only did it stop working after about 3 weeks, I took it back and tried another one and could not get a signal. I bought a cheaper antenna at Radio Shack that works much better... don't buy this one. Save your money

Does not work very well February 23, 2009 Reviewer:  CubFan (Illinois)  See all my reviews >

I live in the metro area where my local channels broadcast from and could not get a signal with this antenna. When I first got my new HDTV I hooked my coax cable (fed from the outside cable co. line) directly in to the TV and it acted as an antenna and received the locals quite well. When I got satellite I needed a supplemental antenna for the locals. I purchased this antenna and received about a 25% signal strength. Not enough to get a picture. This antenna needs a pretty direct line of site or be placed near a window. I purchased the cheapest non-amplified antenna ($10) and it works much better. The good news is Target accepted the return with no problems.
