As others found, this unit worked fine for me at first. (a little better than rabbit ears) Three weeks into using this unit, the antenna stopped picking up a signal. No warning, nothing changed, the unit just quit. I switched it out with the old rabbit ears and the TV worked fine. I switched back to the GE unit and nothing. The next morning I tried again and no change. The blue light is out and the unit does nothing. I am taking it back today. It would appear this unit was not made to last (for me more than three weeks). This is too bad because I have other much older GE devices that have stood the test of time.

Just the one you need for great TV reception w/o missing any single digital channel in Jacksonville, FL. Setup is easy and looks great on top of our entertainment center. I would recommend it for future buyer.

Great Indoor Antenna for Urban Areas

I bought this antenna since I want to get rid of cable. I also purchased the GE Converter box because I still have an analog TV. I live in a relatively urban area so the digital signal comes in great. All stations are less than 10 miles away. Picture is crystal clear. Plugging it in is necessary to get a good signal. I'm very pleased.

This unit works great for off-the-air digital HD TV reception. It has a monopole antenna for VHF, but I did not even extend it since most digital TV is broadcast in the UHF range. I live in the suburbs, 25 to 30 miles from the broadcast towers, and receive every digital channel available perfectly, just set it up and go. Small unit, I put it behind the TV and it is not even noticeable.

Worst Buy, our old tv antenna worked so much better. It barely gets channels, and it always cuts out. We are are only 30 miles away from the towers and San bruno mountain, yet we cant even get FOX or KRON 4. Do not get

I was looking for a new antenna that had the amplification booster and saw this. I decided to give it a shot. I was previously using a cheapo rabbit ear/loop antenna from another store and could get about 6 or 7 channels with occasional drop outs on some. I figured an amplification one would work better. Boy was I wrong! I hooked this up, plugged it in, scanned, and found 0 channels. Moved it all around the room in every direction you could think of and got nothing but blips and skips of blocks on the channels. I put my old antenna back on and got all my channels back.
Maybe it's just my location, I don't know. But this antenna, is bad.
Don't waste your time.

I went to Target and asked the sales rep the best antenna to buy. He assured me that the Quantum was the best and that regular rabbit ears do not work because of the switch.
I spent over (price) for this item. No matter were I placed it and how many times I scanned for channels I could get only one. And the one channel I got wasn't the greatest of quality.
I went and bought a (price) pair of rabbit ears and now get all local channels with a good picture.
Save your money, do not buy this antenna!

Tried several different amplified antennas Phillips, RCA, Radioshack
This is the clearest and requires no great efforts in positioning.
I have a lot of Hi Tech stuff and if it werent for tough financial times, Id have a dish.
This item is the best of 5 trips to the store.

The little antenna that came with my portable digital tv picked up much better than this. Returned it to the store next day.
