The blue light remains pugged in and doubles as the magnetic charger for the portable nightlight. The great think is it can be positioned and left anywhere. Place it your childs room to give off a soft glow, illuminate a dark hallway for guests, or use it to find your way to the bathroom at night.

We had a "Vessel" Guardian Night-Light for almost 4 years. We purchased it as a feeding light for my daughter when she was born. We continue to use it almost every night to check on the kids. The brightness is perfect and the light automatically turns on when you remove it from the base. It then turns off when you return it to the base. The base stays plugged into the wall and serves as a night light as well as the charger. This is a product we have used nearly every day for 4 years straight. I highly recommend it.

my newborn is hungry in the middle of the night or sometimes makes coughing noises and I want to see if he is OK- this light is perfect, I can see what I am doing enough to breast feed him in bed or lift the light over the co-sleeper next to the bed to make sure he is ok. I say this light is perfect for new baby nights~
