these are not worth the money at all. when you turn the volume not even up to its full potential they make a static sound which is really annoying if you're into good sound. if you're gonna spend your money spend it on something worth your while. the only thing good about this speaker set is the subwoofer.

Well first off, I have to admit i was skeptical of purchasing these bc of the negative reviews some have left, but i'm glad i did. They are awesome!. First, the "annoying" hum some complain about, well that hum is hardly worth a mention, i believe it is only because these speakers put out HUGE sound for their size and require power and voltage to sound great. At volume it is undistinguishable. My Pioneer receiver and Klipsch speakers also hum at idle, why? bc of amplifier power in them, so there you are. Are they similar to Bose 901's? no, but for under fifty bucks, you can't go wrong, and the SUBWOFFER is equally potent in output, it puts out enough thump to have my neighbors complain in apartment above me. Try this, play mp3's of decent bit quality(128-320bps), adjust the sub volume to 50%, tweak your media player w/ the built in equalizer in Windows, and have your pc vol. set to 50% as well. Then these speakers sound as good as any bookshelf series stereo speakers. DON'T BELIEVE THE FEW NEGATIVE REVIEWS!!!. These produce crisp and clear sound.I give them a full 5 stars plus.

I bougth these speakers a few months ago and the sound is so great,i use with my 32inch TV the sound is amazing.the volume of the sub i only use half, this system is just the best so i definitly recomend to a friend.

I had another pair of Logitech speakers before I upgraded (they were little[..]speakers I picked up at Radioshack), and they had finally bit the dust after three years of use. I've been using these for a few months now, and the only reason I gave them 4 stars was because I had so many problems with shipping, but I have a feeling I'm an oddity. Anyway, That hum that has been mentioned on these reviews, does in fact happen. But it's happened to all my speakers because I have a home phone within a foot of the speakers, so they give feedback whenever you use the phone. So you shouldn't hear that hum if they aren't near a phone :)

I've used Logitech numerous times and have always been pleased with the product. I've had a set of their older 5.1 speakers that I thought truly rocked. I've used their MOMO steering wheels for games and been pleased with the product, also I am writing this review on my Logitech wireless keyboard + mouse. Now with these X240 speakers for my computer I was comfortable knowing I am buying something that will work. I game with them, watch movies & listen to music. These speakers are constantly on and I truly enjoy the sound. The quality of the sound is a A+ for my ears although it would be unfair to compare with a high tech audio system of today. The old 2.1 speakers I had I needed to put velcro underneath the desktop speakers to keep them from falling. Not here these speakers stay put. Nice design here. Plus their small enough that they don't take up much room on a limited space desk. I wish they had a bass adjustment knob on one of the speakers or something like that instead of down on the sub-woofer would be nice and I think the additional stand for the volume, etc is not in tune with desk space saving although I found it easy to place out of the way and accessible. I look forward to many years of happy use.
