I received this iron as a gift for my bridal shower and I have had nothing but good results with it. The best part about the iron, is the cord reel. It's easy to store the iron away and not worry about the cord. Also, since I do have younger children it is safe to know that they can't pull the cord and get the iron down. I would suggest this iron for EVERYBODY! :)

When I bought this iron I was really happy the first week or so. After about one month, the non-stick sole plate started peeling off onto my clothing. I re-read the instructions. Nothing fancy required. I didn't have to remove the water from the tank. The steam worked great, but the dark non-stick coating is daily coming off and it's horrible to have this come off when pressing something white or light. I have been tempted to keep it, but I'm tired of cleaning this coating from my clothes.

I bought this iron, and I ran over some sticky interfacing with it right off the bat. I let the iron cool, but the interfacing would not come off even when I scrubbed and scubbed. Afterward the iron didn't glide over my clothing any longer, so I took it back. The new one glides over all the fabric I iron much easier. I think they had a bad batch before. I love this iron. It's huge, and the cord retracts back into the unit making it easy to store. The cord is designed not to retract completely, so for those of you who think this is a flaw, think again. The iron is heavy so I don't have to push down as hard to get the wrinkles out. The steam is amazing and the vertical steam makes getting the wrinkles out of blazers and sport coats a breeze. For the money, the iron is worth the price. You get the same features and warranty with a more expense Rowenta iron, but at half the cost.

The cord reel is a joke, you do have to pull it back and forth for it to work.. but than sometimes it does. I notice if you have it the cord in a line than it works but not if its hanging down. Otherwise this iron is WONDERFUL!
Doesn't leak, the steam works great, easy to use and fill with water. Not too heavy but has a good weight to it when pressing. I've tried many brands and styles but this is by far the best.. just wish that cord reel would work better.

This iron actually CREATES wrinkles as you go. The material they used for the plate of the iron does not glide across the fabric. It instead catches the fabric, creating wrinkles as you go. I cannot believe this product made it past Quality Control! I will be returning this iron!

I just bought this iron and I will be returning it! It does not glide over the clothes thus creating more wrinkles. Since the cord is not centered it constantly gets in the way. The only good feature is the retractable cord however mine does not retract all the way. It leaves a good 6 inches or more out.

Melts clothes

Iron does not glide easily on clothes and you end up creating more wrinkles. There is a hot spot close to the tip that will melt your clothes before you know it. I have never had a problem ironing my scrubs until I bought this iron.... I took it back and got a T-Fal.

With only one review but a very positive one, I decided to purchase this after my Hamilton Beach iron (of 3 years) lit on fire inside.
What I love about this:
-The steam comes out seldomly but never drips water, and because it doesn't over produce the steam like many other irons, I don't have to keep refilling it every 10 minutes.
-It has a good amount of weight to it so even on a low setting it will still get the wrinkles out.
-I love all the safety features for when the iron is about to shut off, and just a quick ironing movement and it starts heating back up again! It's great!
The only thing that doesn't work on it is the cord reel. It retracts but not that well so I have to feed it into it a little but it's nothing to worry about nor return it for.

How hard is it to make an iron?

Switching brands after this one. This is my second Black and Decker Iron. The 'cord reel' mechanism is a joke. You have to pull it out....pull it back.....release it....then the iron might come on as it should. Or, it might not. Depends on the mood of the iron I guess. I could see sparks inside mine...when pulling the cord back and forth. Gee, that doesn't seem right. The ironing function....so so.....not as no stick as one would think.

Thought I was being smart and money wise, who needs to spend that much on an iron right? WRONG!!! I was able to iron just two shirts and one pair of trousers before the water tank cracked and started leaking all over the third shirt I was trying to iron which is a sad thing to say about an iron. Black & Decker should review their quility control procedures.
