Just finished putting this piece together. I love it!! It looks like a more expensive stand than what it is. My biggest complaint is the directions. Who ever wrote them is an idiot!! I am the one who does all of the furniture and toy asembling in our house and it still took me an hour to put it together. I had to take a couple of things back apart and reconfigure. Once I got it together it seems very sturdy and looks great. Would highly recommend.

I bought this item for my new apartment, and couldn't be happier. The wood looks like the sample in the item photos, the parts are all clearly lettered and the instructions are easy to follow. I bought several Avington pieces in my local Target store, but had to order this online. Arrived in 3 days and not one bit of damage. The open shelves are smaller than the photo shows, but the digital cable box and the DVD player fit with no problem. I could not be happier with this item. I bought the tall bookcases for eaither side of the TV stand, and low bookcases on either side of the tall ones, and it looks every bit as good as multi-piece units I saw in .......... catalogs. But cost far, far less!!

This is a great buy. The wood is good quality, and looks wonderful. Took a little over an hour to put together with my Dad's help. Instructions are thorough and easy to follow. Highly recommended.

I love the entire Avington collection; this TV stand is great. I'm pretty handy, but it still took me ~2 hours to put it together. Once you get the hang of it, it's not so bad; but it still took awhile. I put it together myself. Having a second person isn't necessary. Despite some reviews, it DOES have some mahogany tones. It is definitely a deep brown, but it has a very subtle mahogany tone to it - just what I wanted. Keep in mind that it is a pretty low sitting table and the shelves aren't very big (which is ok). They are plenty big to hold a DVD player/cable box, etc with a little room to spare. The drawers are nice and roomy and are on a rolling track so they glide nicely. The whole piece is HEAVY. (Very sturdy too.) I could not believe how heavy the box was (Maybe because I'm on the 3rd floor ha!) and how much pushing and pulling it took to move it across carpet. Not a bad thing; it's quality. It is a gorgeous piece of furniture; very simple but elegant and classy. Highly recommend.

I have had this tv stand for about 8 months and i love it. It looks great and does what i need it to do! hold my tv!
The only complaint i had was that it was a little hard to put together. If one person tries to put it together - it will probably not end up very stable. Please ask a friend over to help you build your Avington TV Stand!

I purchased this TV stand at a Target store after reading all the great reviews on the website, but am disappointed with the quality of the manufacturing. The first store I went to only had boxes that were damaged - you could see the dents in the furniture through the holes. The second store I went to had three in stock. I took one home that had a decent box, only to find out that it was also damaged on the inside. So, I brought that one back and bought another, only after the store associates helped me open it to verify that all the pieces were in good condition. When all is said and done, I suppose it is a decent piece of furniture for the price, but I think I have a low tolerance for crappy manufacturing. The drawer faces were scratched, even though they were deep inside the styrofoam packaging. Sigh...

I purchased this for my 42" flat screen tv. It is able to hold dish reciever,wii,and sound system reciever in the open shelves. Warning...the shelves are a lot smaller than pictured online and the box. The height is much lower. The sturdiness is great, much better than the Metropolitan collection that target used to carry. Color is very brown..no mahogany tones( that the photo depicts). Highly recommend. Plan on getting the console table as well.

The TV stand looks great and was relatively easy to assemble. I've got my DVR in the right slot and it fits just fine. However, when I tried to put my receiver/stereo in the left slot it wouldn't fit through the hole. This was remedied by removing the back and top of the stand and dropping the unit into place. Then a reassemble was required. Great furniture and value however watch your component sizes and think ahead.

This stand was really easy to put together the instructions are very clear and concise. The only problem I had was because of user error...lol...Just pay attention to the dowels you are using, I accidently used the wrond sized one, however my stand is still standing...lol
